I watch a show called "Wheeler Dealers". I figure you guys all know it.
Apparently the Velocity Network has decided the mechanic, Ed China, needed to be replaced. They want to give more feature time to the other guy, Mike. Personally, Ed's work is why I watch the show. I think that Mike guy is too gushy and a bit light in the loafers and they should lose him instead.
I don't think I'll completely stop watching the show. After all, I still enjoy the free English lessons.

Unfortunately the people who make those decisions never seem to know what the viewers really want. Edd is who makes the show.

We need to bring back more shows like the original "shadetree mechanic."

I like to see shows that illustrate how stuff is really done. Showing me a segment implying a total restoration on a car is done correctly in a week is bullshit. Nevermind the confusion it creates with general customers. they really believe that crap.

I'd watch it if Edd had his own show.

I am not familiar with the new guy, Ant. I'll give him a chance.

I have had the opportunity to meet both of the Wheeler Dealers... Edd and Mike.

They are really nice fellows. Edd is as he is. A rather quite, very bright gentleman. And my, he is TALL... 6'8"!!!

Mike is much more outgoing, but not the over the top you see on TV. They are both great with kids.

I like Edd a lot. He reminds me of me with how he goes about solving things. His base knowledge is without repute.

What bothers me is that Edd said they wanted to cut the tech, then Mike says that DTV never said such things... I suspect they are both right... Edd was told that, bolted, and then DTV played all nice and said nothing of the sort to Mike. He actually quit almost a year ago.

As the youtube links suggest, they are worth looking at. There are several good ones.

I will watch the new show... but I will be waiting for Edd's!!!

I'll watch the new show, just to give them a chance. But if what I heard Edd say is true, it will be apparent pretty early on. I liked the tech stuff, which is what Edd said they wanted to cut, because it is too difficult.

I'll watch Edds' new show, if/when it is picked up.

Last night I watched some reruns of a show called "For the Love of Cars" with Ant and another guy. Similar show premise to wheeler dealers. I liked the guy. Very knowledgeable and seemed personable. At least that shows promise. Hopefully they don't butcher the WD show itself too much.

I was watching that show, too. I rather liked it.

He really does seem qualified. I read a column about him in Octane Magazine a few weeks ago, and he does have a varied background. IIRC, he was a former Royal Marine or something like that.
