Well, my guess is everyone is off to the Black Friday offerings. That's just about the way I see this group here. JK. More likely, everyone is sleeping in, except for Tommy.

We played games and cards until around midnight. Fun was had by all. It's cool again to start the day, predictions are near 80 for highs. Maybe I'll get the pickup washed... or the Caddy.

I hope all of you have a great Black Friday.

SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS, "GONNA BE A BRIGHT, BRIGHT, SUNSHINY DAY---"
THE CHEROKEES ARE REPLETE.

T-DAY WAS NOT WHAT WAS EXPECTED. I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO GET ALL DARLING WIFE'S CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE TOMATO AFTER SHE DECIDED NOT TO TAKE THE ICE CHEST, SO WE HAD A NICE HOUR'S RIDE IN THE SUNSHINE TO OKMULGEE, WHERE CHAOS PREVAILED.

SEEMS THE OVEN HAD GOT TURNED OFF SOMEHOW AND THE TURKEY WAS NOT COOKED. AN EMERGENCY HAM WAS IN THE SMOKER, SO WE STARTED THE MEAL IN REVERSE BY EATING ALL THE PIES :-) THERE WERE ALSO SOME STUFFED MUSHROOMS MADE BY #4 GRANDDAUGHTER THAT DISAPPEARED RAPIDLY. GRANDDAUGHTER-IN-LAW-TO-BE MADE A BUTTERMILK PIE THAT TOPPED THE PIE-PARADE, WHICH PUT DW'S NOSE EVER-SO SLIGHTLY OUT OF JOINT.

DINNER WAS GOOD, IF SANS DRESSING AND GRAVY, AND THE TURKEY CAME OUT OF THE OVEN ABOUT THE TIME WE WENT HOME.

ALL #1 DAUGHTER'S BUNCH WAS THERE, EXCEPT #2 GRANDDAUGHTER'S WEST TEXAS COWBOY. I HAVE A MOST WONDERFUL FAMILY.

LIFE IS GOOD.

'Tain't no thing—we have the bits.

Cold but beautiful in the Philadelphia area; in the mid-twenties early this morning. Now up to the low forties.

Ivelis has headed out for her annual visit to the gingerbread house exhibit in Peddler's Village. I'm at home, making some small upgrades to the condition of the house.

I guess I'm a cheap skate - I shop online or will at least look for a coupon online that will net me the same savings on a regular day to avoid any black friday hassles. found a patio heater I want, Orscheln, 129$. I have a black friday $20 off coupon. They have them in stock here and sure I'd like to just go buy one but walmart also has it online for $99 free shipping. I'd still have to pay sales tax either way and I can have it in a couple of days free pickup at store. or I'll visit retailmenot.com and see what coupons I can find there. I also visit our yard sale sites and score stuff a lot too. I'd rather sleep...

Yeah baby......70 wonderful degrees here today...... going to get the Grand Sport out of its winter slumber and head to the Husker game in it....... my thinking is even if the Huskers lose I win because I get to drive baby back home......... its the small pleasures in life that make it worthwhile..... right? damn right.....

So VB.... you shop for Christmas gifts at yard sales....... hmmm...... that is a great idea...... don't forget farm auctions...they can be a wealth of cool stuff.......

I was thru Fairbury the other day and there sits that 69 BB Corvette on a used car lot like this is the 1970's....... must resist........ it would be a hell of a driver with its replacement 427......... and I figure the price is getting better the longer it sits there........ my wife would kill me....... she wants a 55 cheby....... not a 3 deuce 427....single 4 bbl........ 390 hp I'm thinking.......probably stop in again to see it....... they wanted 35K last time I was there........ to much...... now 20K maybe......

Have a swell day Guru's.......

make the best out of chaos and satisfaction will prevail!

Sounds like a fun time!

I remember Christmas dinner, 1978. It was in FL at my brothers place. I was sitting at the bar/counter, the dining room side, looking at the kitchen side. I saw smoke, and told Paul. Come to find out, the foil tent on the bird had touched the temp sensor on the oven, shorting it out.

This meant that the oven was either off, or running up to clean! We spent the next couple of hours turning the oven on and off to keep the temps level-ish.

The bird came out fine... and dinner wasn't screwed up!

Greetings! Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving. We headed up north early yesterday morning to go to my niece's place. Had a great time, and I felt like I was about 13 months pregnant after dinner. A highlight was some magnificent deep-fried Alaskan halibut with cajun breading that my niece's husband rustled up for appetizers. After chowing down a bunch of those, I didn't even feel like I needed dinner, but persevered nonetheless. Meanwhile, back to reality today, as I have a significant honey-do list this weekend, starting with moving my son's furniture here tomorrow. I think I will take a nap to get mentally prepared.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Gurus!

UM should have ended the season 10-0 but Pitt was having none of it. Instead of laying down like a good underdog they rallied the team to victory over UM and the U finished the season 9-1 instead of 10 and Ooohhhhhh.

Just ordered our shore excursions for the upcoming cruise. Black Friday 10% off. I'll take it. Saved me $41. Maybe I can parlay that $41 to $4100 at the card table. ...... Or not ........ Sue has a plant sale down in Marathon in the Florida Keys. We went down fully loaded with some pick up orders on the Silverado. I'm thinking she's gonna come back empty. Marathon got slammed by Irma. She does 1-2 sales a year down there every year with the garden club and a few good sized landscapes as well.
