CLEAR AND COLD IN THE NATIONS, 19 DEGREES ON THE FRONT PORCH. THE CHEROKEES ARE PUTTING THEIR LONG-HANDLES ON AGAIN.

ANOTHER OPEN AGENDA TODAY, PUNCTUATED BY SOME BILL PAYING. WENT TO OUR FAVORITE EYE-TI PLACE IN TAHLEQUAH FOR SUPPER LAST NIGHT, HAD A FAVORITE OF MINE, VEAL SICILIANO.

TIME TO CARRY SOME HOT WATER OUT TO PUT IN THE DOGS' FROZEN BUCKET.

STAY WARM, GURUS.

Happy Friday! It is a balmy -9 here, only 50-some degrees colder than it was a couple days ago. They say variety is the spice of life. Pass the oregano.

It was a bit like this here yesterday:

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Lawyers should never ask a Georgia grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer.

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'

She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'

The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.

Morning guys....Slept in this morning, I guess I can do that on my birthday. I got things to do in the shop, but haven't heard a word from FedEx freight about my cabinet materials...really thought they would deliver today.

That's a good one Tommy. Brad be safe, freaking black ice will kill you. Gris, stay warm my friend, the nasty stuff we had yesterday is headed your way...maybe even past you already.

Soon behind it a 1975 went for $105k. Same paint scheme.

I wouldn't buy one.

Happy Birthday T!

I think the last post I made was regarding my distaste for cold weather.
Now I'm sick as crap and I feel like poop!
Thanks January. I'll stop whining now.
Stay warm everyone.

Happy Birthday TB! Hope you have had a great one and plenty more ahead!
I sympathize on the black ice. Had ice here during the night and by the time some of the work crew got going good this morning had that black ice feeling going on all day today and then for the drive home. Nothing at the body shop today, he chose to stay home, I had a dentist visit at 8am. I do have a side job to do at home so after a 2 hour nap I've worked on that some and made chili to offset the 20 degree temps. Back down in the teens by Monday evening. Sick to death of it.
I'd give anything to be in Tahiti although I don't look like those women. I do wonder why God chooses to love some people more than others and bless them with living in nice places and warm climates and not others. And most of those people don't even appreciate it, or him for that matter. Whereas you have people like me who'd give anything to be there and am stuck in a shithole like Arkansas....

Thanks folks for the birthday wishes. It was a good day. I spent most of it in the shop working on some candlesticks holders for church. Finished them up, except for the clear finish.

I grilled a couple T=bone steaks tonight...really good eating. And Rosie made me an applesauce cake.....dang those are good!
