Since Bill was a mod here and long time part of this forum I thought he deserves a thread of his own.

Bill passed away on or around Jan 20th of 17...... His body was found on the 23rd by a concerned neighbor who had seen no activity around his place. Bill lived alone and died in his sleep according to the reports.

Bill had a cousin in Texas who claimed his body and had it cremated and the ashes were sent back to his family in Pennsylvania.......all his worldly possessions including his beloved 67 were sold at auction.

I always enjoyed Bills posts. He loved racing and music and his last post on the Guru was on the 20th and was a poem celebrating Trump's victory over Hillary..... It's a sad deal and I will miss his presence on the Guru.....

Thank you, Marcus.

Bill H was a wonderful host when we passed through Reno on our May 2014 big trip.

I will miss his memories of the Corvette world in past decades and his advice about so many things.

I forgot to mention that Tee Bee is the one who did the research and found out Bill was gone....... I followed up with PM's to Bill's friend Joe out in Reno that was always working on C2's and he told me some of the other facts... Joe said he tried to buy Bill's 67 but the price at the auction went way to high for him......

Yes, thanks for starting this Marcus...I had thought about starting one, but got tied up and now I'm glad that you did.

John, we have the same experience on our trip through Reno a year before your trip.

A picture of Bill and I at one of the museums he took us to.

And it's a shame that Joe couldn't buy it. I hope whoever did get it appreciates all that went into it.

Yea, no kidding, Marcus and Brad. Maybe whomever bought it will become a member and read his posts about what he did to make the thing as perfect as possible.

A salute to my friend BillH. Sometimes I think he took a few cues from Grumpy Jenkins from back in the day. ;) He was always willing to help in anything I had questions about, supported my efforts in autocross and consistently prodded me to step up to DE. We shared many a music minute and chided each other on any topic we knew would get each others goat. He welcomed me to join him for Hot August Nights or even help him on his beloved 67. I thought he might have taken a hiatus as he was known to do. As the time grew so did my concern. Tee, thanks for filling in the blanks. I will miss you Bill as I miss many other of our departed brothers. (No sisters I know have departed yet.)

I laughed inside at the passing thought of BillH and his opinion of going to the beach. "A total waste of time." I think he went to the beach once and that was enough.

This was a terrible bit of news for me, as it was for all you guys also. Never met Bill but enjoyed and respected his opinion since my first visit to this forum. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed by many people.

I'm also sorry he's passed. I never got to meet Bill, but came close in '13 during Hot August Nights, but it didn't happen. My fault.
His the knowledge was obviously extensive. And even more remarkably it was available for the asking. The sign of a great car guy.
Rest in peace, Bill.

Sniff.... such a shame... It is even sadder it took us a year to find out.

I liked Bill. He was a wealth of knowledge and was never one to beat you down with it. Always sharing, always caring.

He was a friend. He will be missed.

Bill was a great guy. Very sorry to hear this news. His absence on the forum was certainly noticed, as he was a wealth of knowledge. I always wondered why his posting stopped, I guess we know why now.

RIP to a Corvette brother.

Wow, a year.

I dont get on these forums that much these days but noticed he had not been posting here for a long time.

I will always be greatful of the Q Jet carb he gave to me a few yrs ago to help fix my wifes 79. That really shows the kind of man he was.... he wouldnt take a dime beyond shipping cost for it.

He was a fellow racer and we chatted a lot back and forth about our racing exploits espc since I currently race in the area and at the tracks where he grew up.

RIP Bill H.
