Wasn't ready for the alarm to go off this morning. Got a Dr appointment this morning to check on my high BP and how the meds are working. I have to show him my belly again, the hernia is back...thinking all those ads on TV might get a phone call. If you remember, I jokingly asked the surgeon about what type of mesh he was using, and he didn't think it was much of a joke...now the jokes on him as I'm pretty sure that I'll have to have it done again. Not looking forward to that! We'll see what my GP says today.

Working on counter tops for the little kitchen. I have one small, separate top done yesterday....looks good, if I do say so myself. Now I hope that the rest go as well.

Funny you posted that throw back yesterday, Tommy. The other day I was looking back at some of the daily posts from 10 to 12 years ago looking for the name of a member...you know the other shop teacher who retired a couple years before me, lived up in Indiana I think.....just can't remember his name. Some of you other old timers here can help me out.

See, I AM good for something.

Got 95.9% on the huge mulching job done at the house. Going to (try) to finish it today. That will be one monkey off my back when I get it done. Opens the door to moving on to other waiting projects and chores.

SUNNY AND COLD THIS MORNING, WIND IS STARTING TO GET UP, WHICH WILL MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE.

TODAY'S MAJOR PROJECT IS A NEW HANDLE FOR THE CROCKPOT LID.
I'M THINKING ONE OF THOSE LITTLE WOODEN BALLS FROM HOBBY LOBBY WILL WORK IF I DRILL A HOLE IN IT. THIS IS VITAL AS I MIGHT STARVE TO DEATH IF DARLING WIFE WAS DENIED USE OF THE CROCKPOT.

Good Morning CGs!

Sorry I missed yesterday's chat. The old post Tommy linked was pretty interesting. Still have lots of the same core members which is nice to see. I still talk to Chris (CSS996) on Facebook. After he sold his 93 he didn't have much incentive to stick around.

The painting project is finally done in RR#2's room. His paint choice fiasco was successfully covered with a nice deep blue. Always a PIA to paint dark colors because they never want to cover the first coat. The room isn't that big but still took a gallon of primer and a gallon and a half of color.

Was warm for a few days and now cold again. Oh well, can't win them all.

Good luck with the doctor, TB.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I was thinking vise-grips, but your idea might work, too

Why not steal a handle from another pot lid? Go to Goodwill or the Salvation Army thrift store or any thrift store. Maybe you'll get lucky.

SOME TIMES YOU JUST CAN'T WIN. I HAD REATTACHED THE ORIGINAL HANDLE TO THE CROCK POT LID IN A VERY CRUDE MANNER UNTIL I COULD DO BETTER. WENT TO HOBBY LOBBY AND GOT TWO DIFFERENT SHAPE KNOBS SO SHE WOULD HAVE A CHOICE.

SHE WANTS TO KEEP THE BLOTCHED UP ONE THAT'S ON IT :-0

ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT PEACOCK?
I KNOW IT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL MUCH BETTER.

Hey guys...lots done today. made big progress on the counter tops. Was called to go look at a job at the county courthouse, that will end up a clusterf*@k. Got the second piece of the counter top delivered and unloaded. Working with this material is dirty, dusty and static-ee. Smelly too.

Tomorrow I agreed to work the MS basketball tourney. Starting at 9:30 and ending around 5 or whenever the last game is over.
