Today is the 50th anniversary of my dad's death. What a strange day that was. Mom told us our dad had died and sent us off to school. All I did was cry all day.

Back to back in action. No spasms last night and got to sleep through until my 4 dog alarm clock woke me up just before 07:00. The good thing is tomorrow they won't wake me up till just before 08:00

Going to The Southern Jam and BBQ cook off at Miccosukee Casino and Resort later today. 4 bands and a taste of BBQ. The Outlaws, Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels Band and Travis Tritt. Maybe drop a quarter or two into those dreaded one button bandits. Who knows? It could pay off and give me back some of the hundreds of dollars I've lost there.

BEWARE THE ONE -BUTTON BANDITS, TOMMY :-)

OVERCAST AND MILD IN THE NATIONS, COULD RAIN THIS AFTERNOON, THEY SAY.

WAS REPRIEVED FROM PUTTING THE OUT-DATED DECOR IN THE BARN LOFT. WAS INSTRUCTED TO PUT THEM UNDER THE HOUSE INSTEAD.
THE BARN WOULD HAVE BEEN MO' BETTA.

CHECKED OUT THE POND YESTERDAY, CLEAR, BRIM-FULL AND WEEDLESS. HOPE IT STAYS RELATIVELY WEED FREE AS THE TEMPS WARM UP; I ADDED SOME REPLACEMENT GRASS CARP A WHILE BACK. IT'S SPRING FED AND PREVIOUS RESIDENTS USED IT AS A WATER SOURCE. NOW IT IS THE FISHING SPOT FOR THE NEIGHBOR KIDS.

Morning guys.... In response to Matt:
That only gets us 2/3of the way to our destination. And that’s only 5 over Matt. I70 in western Kansas is pretty wide open. Met a few state troopers and they never even looked twice at us.

A little exercise before we hit the road, then a stop at a favorite spot for lunch then on to the ski area. Not looking forward to making our way through Denver though......

So I'm a bit confused......Tee you drove to KC so you could drive back to Colorado? That is some serious seat time.....

Ya... out here on the 70 or the 80 if you are not running 82 mph you will get run over.... we got no time to mess around we got miles to go..... what I love is when the speed limit is 80 in Wyoming or Utah..... you can run 90 all day and be just running with the traffic....... out here you can travel 50 miles just to have coffee with someone......

Geez Tommy that sounds harsh to me....... I was at a clients house in Montana when the call came through that my Dad had died in the wreck of his aircraft...... in fact this April will be the 30th of that event that changed out lives forever......

Our stupid furnace has given up on us after 22 years of hard service.....geez.......POS....... it refuses to run and has been diagnosed terminal.... they will be here Monday with the new more efficient and higher priced model...... it's always something....... I personally think it is a bad sign when the furnace guys are laughing and high fiving on the way out the door............. I'm thinking $$$$$.......... nuts!

have a lovely day Guru's........

Marcus, a 22 year newer furnace should be considerably more fuel efficient. Maybe it will even pay for itself.

tee, I think she did that so she could get everything put together. Hard to do with 6 kids running around the house. Unintentionally harsh and I'm sure she was just a somewhat confused herself. We mourned over the next several days till the funeral was over. Then back to reality and the nuns.

Hidey-ho! I put in an admirable, if not championship-quality, sleep-in effort. We were going to start playing indoor golf this morning, but my friend who has the simulator hasn't had time to get it set up yet. So I guess I'll polish up my couch-denting skills. There are rumors of a warm-up next week - it would be good to get rid of some of this snow.

That is a helluva memory to have to carry around, Tommy

Have a good day, Gurus!

Ya the service guy is saying 5 years...... I thought uh huh....... do you sell used cars on the side......? but what was top of the line then will be outdated by now....

Let's see that was installed in 96..... was that the last year of the C4? I believe so and now we are in the C7 era and soon to see a C8...... I believe there have been some improvements to the cars in that amount of time..... so why not furnaces......?

Yeah, my old furnace crapped out after 9 years - that was about 21 years ago, so I imagine that another replacement will be in the cards at some point.

Ok we are here at Keystone resort. What a freaking madhouse! Don’t think I could do this every year.

Yes, Marcus that is exactly what we did. Doesn’t make a lot of sense, but there is more than the one reason. And yes, that is serious seat time. Got up here to near the Eisenhower tunnel and, it is snowing pretty good, and an accident was backing up the traffic, so SIL decides to go over Loveland pass. Almost a really bad decision....roads are slick (glad I have 4wd) and there are BIG drops off the side. Get clear up to the summit, and it’s a whiteout. Crawling along down the mountain and it starts to clear up a little and up comes a switchback, my front wheels begin sliding and I’ve lost control and traffic coming up the other way are trying to get out of my way, finally come to a halt a few feet from the edge of the road. It got real stinky in the car. . After that it was, more or less, uneventful.

They are fixing supper now. And my arse is dragging. I’ll check back later.

That's fucked up. I don't even know what else to say about it. But 50 years, wow. I'm coming up on 2 years for my dad and it still isn't much easier.
