IF YOU'VE NEVER SEEN ONE YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW BIG BEAVER GET. NOT 200 POUNDS THOUGH :-)

SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, THE ROOFERS ARE BACK AT WORK. THEY ARE NEARLY DONE. THEY HAD IDEAL WORKING WEATHER. SUNNY, COOL, AND A LITTLE WIND. THESE GUYS ARE FROM GUATEMALA, ACCORDING TO GINA, THEIR STRAW BOSS AND TRANSLATOR.

AND WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO MINCEMEAT PIES? HAVE NOT SEEN ONE IN YEARS. THEY USED TO BE A CHRISTMAS AND THANKSGIVING STAPLE.

I'M OFF TO THE BOOMERANG FOR BREAKFAST.

GO GET 'EM, GURUS---

I haven't had a mincemeat pie in years. My Mom used to make them every so often from homemade mincemeat made from venison. She would make the mincemeat and can it. We would have them all year long. It was one of my Dad's favorites. Thanks for the memory.

Friday needs to hurry up and get here and go so Saturday can get here. Loading the last U-haul at the body shop to send to MO and then a tiny sale pile and cleaning empty office and two bays and we're out. For the next month or so I'll be helping out around their house helping get them boxed up and what not and whatever else they need to get the house ready to sell and loads moved from there.
And if you come around here you'll see some 300 pound beavers - they're in Wal Mart and wear pajama pants and have tattoos and dirty babies and drink beer. They might get caught in your trap if you set one out and and bait it with money and weed.
New pool liner due to be installed next weekend, yard work of my own to do and can't keep ppl from breaking into the cousin's empty house.
I'm ready to bury my head in the sand

My friend that owns the body shop I help out at 2 days a week - he retired a year and a half ago but has still been working. We've finished the frame off on the 65 C10 and were about to pick back up on his 68 Vette and his wife upped her retirement by a year or so. She quits in June. sped things up a bit. His son is a Dr. there and has a 165-acre farm and his Dr. friend has property next to his. It has a 100+ year old small farm house, catfish pond, barn, more modern 2-car garage etc. The 'barn' is actually old looking with a slider wall that opens up to a fairly nice concrete slab floor with wall to wall cabinets, fridge and cookstove and a wood heating stove. Quite deceiving. We've hauled the 68 Vette, the dune buggy, the 59 Apache and everything else from the shop that he's keeping up there already. This uhaul tomorrow will be the last load from the shop to go. House starts next. They've been going up there about once a month to work on the house. Their son also just bought another house there and will be moving soon as well but will still be close by. Not sure if they'll keep the acreage they have now or not tho but my friend and his wife will be caretaking 5 acres or so of the property theyll be on

Keep the beaver and water buffalo. Unfortunately Florida has a number of non native species. One being the giant sloth. Has energy only to have it's hair and nails done. Also uses it's discounted cell phone to excess. It's been known to get section 8 housing, medicaid and benefits from a supplemental nutrition assistance program. Too bad we can't get them to migrate elsewhere.
