Good Morning CGs!

Crazy weather our members are having....80s down in FL, snow between Minnesota and the plains, and hail down south? We just have cold, but no wild swings or crazy winds.

I was lucky enough to find a deal on some Matco ADV (Taiwan line vs US) swivel sockets - full sets of sae and metric. Those arrived , so I had to do some rearranging. The grid system takes some work, but worth it in the end. I posted a picture below.

Other than that, not much to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hopefully the tools will go to good use and not become garage art or tool eye candy. What did you have to do on the Corvette, Matt?

I need to get a few things done today Sunday and Monday were both pretty much do nothing days. Have to jump start the system back to to production mode. Replacing a pulley idler arm on the nursery lawnmower is on top of the list. Then I have to prep a couple of areas for some stone and brick pavers. Get a scoop of sand and some bags of Portland cement. Fun , fun , fun ......

Howdy! I would've preferred to work from home today, but had to go into the office. A good day to have 4WD, first time all "winter" that I've used it - plenty slick out there. Traffic was slow and steady, about right for the conditions, so I won't bitch about that. I will, however, reserve the right to bitch about it being 11 friggin' degrees on April 4.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

New ignition switch is on the top of the "to-do" list. Unfortunately the way the car is parked in the garage I don't have good access to it. We are still using the other side of the garage due to the weather so I can't pull it out and repark it yet. Hopefully soon. I'll use at least three or four of my tools for that job

What is ironic is that now that I can afford the nice stuff, I don't need it anymore. My daily drivers are newer and nicer, and the Corvette is basically trouble free. When I was younger and had very few tools is when I was actually doing the heavy work. As I progressed I saw how helpful it was to have the specialty stuff and better quality tools. So I've amassed quite a collection. A strange inverse relationship. I'd like to do more automotive work, but it's mostly limited to repairs on family members' cars, etc. Or a $35 wrench is used to put together a kid's scooter or bicycle. I was thinking about it the other day...how lucky my son will be when he turns 16 and gets a car. If something needs to be fixed and he can't find the tool in my garage, it probably can't be fixed. Still a few years away, but I'm actually looking forward to that.

Thanks for the weather mojo from yesterday - garage door was banged up some - not sure what else. Shop and pool house remain unflooded - calling that win. Plants not too bothered. Some nice sized hail tho. Mixed sizes but some were large. That crap was LOUD. Snow predicted for this weekend. We're a month late for our 'spring'. Can I just die already? Geez. We will go straight from winter to blazing hot summer. Or maybe we'll skip summer alltogether and have winter again. Who knows.

Its the same with houses ...... when your kids are young you all live in a small house with bunk beds for the kids and as time goes by the kids move out on their own and then folks go build a huge new house because now they have the money...... seen it a lot of times...... 2 older folks that are like BB's in a boxcar in a 5000 sq ft home......

feeling a bit grumpy about getting the new license plates for all the cars. Did not do bad until I got to the Corvette. 2010 and they wanted 466 dollars for the next years plates...... I said that can't be.......they looked at me like ...hey hot shot you gonna play you gotta pay...... I'm like that's Bullchit mon....

My wife's 2010 Tahoe was $209....... hell my Corvette is damn near ancient .......... ok no more bitch and moan.......but still........comon......

Bit warmer today but more snow on the way........ yeppeeee........

THE SUN IS SHINING ON THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, THE HARD FREEZE THAT WAS PREDICTED GAVE GRISHEIM A MISS, WAS ABOUT 35 THIS MORNING. THEY ARE SAYING IT MAY SNOW OR SLEET FRIDAY NIGHT---THAT DOESEN'T SOUND AS BAD AS LETTY'S BOMBARDMENT.

GOT MOVING EARLY THIS MORNING, HAIRCUT AND BREAKFAST AT THE WHEELHOUSE. TIME TO START GETTING STUFF TOGETHER FOR THE WANENMACHER SHOW, THINK I'LL PULL THE INTERNAL LASER OUT OF MY SIG AND SELL IT. IT'S NOT RELIABLE AND THE BATTERIES RUN DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE GUN HAS NIGHT SIGHTS, THOSE DON'T RUN DOWN :-)

My bombardment don't sound near as bad as $400plus for tags. However our property taxes were down by 1/3 compared to where we lived prior.

Somethings are better up here in old ND. I just renewed both my insurance and license on my 2005. The full coverage insurance was $438 for the year.($1000 deductible on collision and $250 on comp). However, the license was $49 for the year. Our license is based on weight. It is the cheapest of all of my vehicles. Even my 94 Vette is $57.

I get mine from a local agent with the Safeco Insurance.

By the way, there must be more than 2000 vehicles in the state, cause I can account for 10 of them. Not so great when all of the insurance and license comes due.

I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT #1 GRANDSON, THE "BEER SNOB", BROUGHT A FEW BOTTLES OF HIS HOMEBREWED ALE TO THE EASTER GET TOGETHER. I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW GOOD IT WAS. HE HAD IT ALL BOTTLED UP AND LABELED AS PEACEPIPE ALE.

HANDY TO HAVE A BREWER IN THE FAMILY ;-)
