Greetings! I'm much busier than I prefer, but that seems to be par for the course lately. The day will fly by.

Looks like that furnace got fixed just in time, Marcus - didja have them check the A/C too? ;-)

Letty, get cracking on that vacation - it is long overdue!

Have a good day, yawlz!

Good morning. Mom ended up in the hospital admitted through the ER. She apparently had a non symptomatic heart attack AND has been carrying a bad c diff infection. She had extremely low energy which led to her seeking treatment. She is showing signs of improvement today which I am hopeful will continue. My cell phone and home phone have been ringing off the hook of late. I hate Vulcan phones more than I hate plumbing. Just hearing it ring makes me curse before I even know who it is. lol. 97.283% of the time it is NOT something I want to hear. I'd really prefer to have a phone that makes outgoing calls only and all other calls routed to voice mail. As it is I don't answer any call that comes in from a number I don't have identified. Brad, I have a number of work items to address especially after the sheds get placed. The others are just routine do as I do type items that need my attention. I'm way behind on my chore list. Think it is going to stay that way for awhile.

Hey guys...been busy since the get-go. Rosie was up early and gone to Dodge City for a meeting, I've been out in the shop building drawers. This afternoon I'm headed back to the remodel project to lay some flooring down. I really need to get that done today, if possible.

Church council meeting tonight, so it's another busy day/night.

Wwell, most of the flooring is down. About four more small (1 1/4 x 24) pieces to finish up. Drawers are done. I'll do the vanity sink tomorrow and the last of the floor pieces.

A few other little things need to get done before we leave tomorrow as well...another bust day ahead.

Reached the mid 80s today with light winds, more of the same tomorrow except for the wind....it's supposed to howl.

Good Evening CGs!

Tommy, hope everything works out for your mother.

Yesterday we took the dog to the vet. A lot of choices around us but we ended up using one that two of our cousins go to. They have an interesting set up. There are no appointments. They're open from the morning until 8 p.m. and it's all walk-in. They are also open on the weekends but close a little earlier. We figured that would be convenient if we need it. They basically have a monthly payment package that covers all routine and emergency office visits, vaccinations, and neutering. It's $42 a month, but when you add it up you save 35% over doing everything separately. They got us in a room right away, but then we waited about 45 minutes to see the vet. She came in and the dog was immediately apprehensive. He was shaking in my arms and growling at her. Don't know why. The vet didn't want to go near him and said that wasn't normal for a puppy his age. I'm not sure if that's true or not. We ended up having to put a muzzle on him in order to get his shots and I had to hold him down. Now my wife is freaking out because everybody and their brother is giving her "advice" about the dog without really knowing anything. The vet recommended training so we've called a few places. One was obscenely expensive, another one we called is booked out a month in advance for a consultation, and finally a third one that gets good reviews called back with an availability. He told my wife he can't diagnose the dog over the phone. He also said it will take about a week and a half to two weeks for the real personality of the dog to come out once they are transplanted to a new house. Seems like the best advice we've gotten so far. The rates are reasonable. Not inexpensive, but reasonable. I think his package is $600 for 4 months and he does an hour-long house visit every two weeks and phone support 24/7. We will probably go that route. This is really the first dog my wife is ever owned, so it's all new territory to her. I'm not worried nearly as much as she is. Dog has started barking and growling a little more at noises and people when they come to the door. Right now a spray bottle and a stern "no" is the punishment for that. Certainly don't want to reinforce bad behavior. He's also having a little trouble with holding his bladder when he's excited and going to the bathroom outside. But it's all new to him so I cut him more slack than the wife. Having house broken several dogs myself, I know it's a process. You guys with dogs understand.

That's about it for now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Ok......lessons from the dog Guru..... Me..... Those small breeds can be very protective of their environment and their people....especially the kids.... so when they bark or growl at someone at the door that is natural and is a heads up that someone is around. I do not mind that behavior and usually pick the dog up and then they settle down and when the folks come in and he takes a sniff at them I put him down and he is all good.

Now if the UPS man comes to the door its on......they hate the brown and the Fed X...... Mail lady is fine..... but when those service trucks come up the drive the lads go ballistic....... we don't know why.....

Now my daughter has a small Yorkie who is just mean......small dog syndrome we think..... but he hates long floppy pants and will attack your ankles if you are wearing such an item....... does not matter who you are.....so we pick him up a lot when folks come in the house....... we tried the spray mist and a stern no and he cowers like you just beat him.....but 5 minutes later there he goes again........ we smile when we see him headed out for the plane ride home in his little doggie carrier with his head sticking out the hole in it.......

So my advice let the dog be himself and keep after the peeing and pooping because those are not allowed in the house........ my daughters dog uses floor diapers...... yeah......but he hit them 90% of the time.......I told my wife maybe we could get some of those for me.......

Marcus .... training shock collars will train any dog a new trick. Stop (no response) ZAP ...... (urah). Stop.

Second shed and porch came in today. Third shed to come tomorrow, supposedly with an installation crew. The company owner is supposed to come buy as well. He wants to see the people who bought these BIG sheds. Front patio at the house is 99.5% complete. He's going to touch up a couple of spots when he comes to do a brick deck on the side of the house. Time is flying by, Talked with mother today. She sounded weak on the phone. Going to So carolina the end of next week and in 25 days, Wooooooooooooot, cruise time. When you stay busy you always wonder where the time is going because time flies.
