cor123 has an excellent of resources here but I do want to put in a special plug for Andy Blackmore's Spotter Guide—I find the race essentially unwatchable without it. The entire race is on Velocity this year, if you are in the United States. |

The biggest story, of course, is Toyota finally winning overall after years of horrible luck. Yes, they had little competition, but it is not their fault that all the other manufacturers in LMP1 "went home." In GTE Pro, I think it was the same story as the Rolex this year—the winners have absolutely no problems. Even five years ago, you could have a minor issue and still win. In 2018, you'd better not put a wheel wrong or you are not going to be on the podium. Congratulations to the European Porsche teams—the pink pig livery will be immortalized yet again. I loved how they were all-in on the retro theme—even having fake brick facings in their garages to make them look a little more old school. I'm proud of the Corvette Racing team. In particular, the #63 worked for that 5th place after dropping as low as 10th. Magnussen drove like a banshee in the late night/early morning hours—perhaps one of the "old men" in Corvette Racing has some years left in him. |
