Good Morning CGs!

Wow, wow, wow. Can you believe it's the last day in August? Amazing. Christmas is right around the corner.

We've had a few days of rain off and on coupled with cooler temps. I can tell you the grass loves it. After being yellow and dormant for the past month it now looks like an overgrown rainforest. Hopefully I can get it cut tomorrow if it dries out.

Gris, not sure if I mentioned it but not too long ago I had the opportunity to pick up an original condition 1974 West German Walther PPK/S. Finally had a chance to shoot it. It actually surprised me a bit because I didn't realize it was a DA/SA gun. Shoots nice. I was using the original magazine along with a brand new spare aftermarket mag. The original cycled flawlessly. The aftermarket stovepiped each time I tried it. Looks identical visually. I didn't measure the mags. Not sure if it's spring pressure or something "off" that's causing it. Any ideas?

Hope everyone has a great day!

THE MAGAZINE IS THE WEAK POINT OF ALL AUTO PISTOLS. IT COULD VERY WELL BE THE SPRING. OR A NUMBER OF OTHER THINGS, FEED LIPS, FOLLOWER, ETC. IS THE MAG A WALTHER? IF NOT I'D SAY YOUR BEST BET WOULD BE TO GET ONE. THERE'S A GUY NAMED EARL WHO SPECIALIZES IN WALTHERS, YOU CAN FIND HIM ONLINE, HE WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE A PROPER MAG FOR YOU. HE "NOT BE CHEAP" BUT IS GOOD ABOUT STANDING BEHIND WHAT HE SELLS.

THAT'S A NEAT GUN YOU GOT, WALTHERS ARE PROVERBIALLY RELIABLE. I'D HAVE A PPK BUT THEY WON'T POINT FOR ME DUE TO MY REWIRED HAND.

What's a DA/SA gun mean...... just trying to add to my vast knowledge of everything on earth......

Just hanging out some today.....getting my game face on early.....first Husker game tomorrow......

Well I have sold my trucking business. Some of the trucks went over when I sold the Ag Businesses and yesterday I sold the rest of them and the company so I am officially retired from the trucks.

Difficulty getting drivers was a big reason.....money was actually getting good since the shortage has become a problem..... that and I have enough on my plate now working for the man so had an opportunity and took it....

So....... almost retired but not quite........

Have a bountiful day Guru's......

If I remember correctly from my Navy days, it means double-action/single-action—the first shot being double and the rest being single. But, that was a long time ago …

Good morning, all.

Rainy here in the Philadelphia area. The rain is welcome, but I feel badly for folks whose holiday plans it is messing with.

Working from home today and getting a lot done. The University has early dismissal at 2:00 PM today and I had zero meetings.

That's pretty much it. In a DAO (double action only) every time you pull the trigger back it also pulls the hammer back to fire the gun. Usually a very long and/or heavy trigger pull. If you have a DA/SA gun, the first trigger pull is heavy and cocks the hammer back. Then the second trigger pull is very short and light because the hammer is already reset by the gun cycling. On some guns you can manually pull the hammer back and set it so that it's single action on the first shot. But not all guns have an exposed hammer to do that. Clear as mud?

This, of course, is not to be confused with MC Hammer. Right, Tommy?

Gris, it's an aftermarket mag. It's what I could find. I think it was a mec-gar which is usually a good mag in the aftermarket. I'll have to tinker with it later.

Sun in and out today here - I recall mentioning how beautiful it was yesterday. As soon as I logged out and went back to work we had hurricane style weather, flooding and all sorts of mayhem. Promptly after the sun was back out as if nothing had happened. Except for the tree limbs and stuff blown everywhere. Got out of work today so trying to be lazy around the house = working good so far.
Let the weekend begin
