Good Morning CGs!

Happy Labor Day to everyone! (Except for Tommy, we know he doesn't do any labor anyway)

According to Wikipedia, the most accurate internet resource available:

Quote:

Labor Day in the United States of America is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws, and well-being of the country. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend. It is recognized as a federal holiday.

This weekend the labor around the house was prosperous. Changed the house water filter cartridges (always a royal PIA). Also changed the furnace filter at that time. Did a little cleaning in the garage and cleaned a couple of my pistols, as well.

Spent some time with the kiddos this weekend, too, which included ice cream after dinner last night. Not a bad way to cap off the evening.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Howdy! The Labor part of Labor Day is about to commence - a pallet of stepping stones just arrived. Gotta mow first, though - it could start raining anytime, and that is the must-do item on the agenda.

Enjoy your holiday, Gurus!

My Mowing got rained out......just like the Husker game....... had to come in and watch Jack Ryan on Amazon TV. Which is what I wanted to do anyway.

Have to give some kudos to Mrs Uwoman.....she was excepted into a Doctoral Program here in Nebraska and she will be working for her Phd in Education. Not easy to get in but she persevered and will be doing her studies while still working full time. She says we can all call her Doc when she graduates.... she is of the mind that you never stop learning or moving forward in life no matter what time of life it is...... You go girl.....

I have had my Phd from the school of hard Knocks for quite awhile now... so she will be catching up to me.......

Not much else going on........ have a good day off Guru's

Back shed floors are under water. Back yard under water. 2 1/2 inches lower than the pond, 2 inches lower than the garage floor, thank goodness. Thunderstorms just north of us now. Conditions should start improving but I just hope we don't get anymore steady, heavy rain. My guess is we got about 7-8 inches of rain this morning. 10" floods me out pretty bad. 51 weeks ago had it a little worse with Irma. No major wind on this tropical storm. 35-40 mph gusts so no wind damage but a ton of rain.

Which program is she in? I found a couple affiliated with Nebraska. Just interested because I'm in that business …

She is working on a Doctorate in Education at Doane University in Crete NE..... the U of N does not really offer this degree unless you become a full time student....which is hard to do since she is employed full time teaching. This program is on line and you attend classes on weekends. She has her masters from the same place. Also will attend summer classes. they have campuses around the area. Works well...... and yes it's accepted not excepted....... I did finish 8th grade though......

Thanks for the clarification, Marcus. I modify language because of my issues, not yours.

Hey guys... Not sure where the day went. Well, I slept in a bit, Rosie made a big breakfast, then I went out to the shop and tried to get it straightened up/cleaned up. Went down and mowed the storage shed lot, then went for a bike ride.

We all know Marcus has issues....sure glad I don't... Looks like Tommy should grow webbed feet...geez!

THE LACKLUSTER DOVE HUNT HAS COME TO AN END. NOTHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT, BUT AT LEAST THE BOYS GOT TO DO SOME SHOOTING AND KILL A FEW DOVE. THE ARKIES ARE ALL BACK ACROSS THE BORDER NOW AND THE CLEAN UP AND RECOVERY CAN START.

RAIN CHANCES PREDICTED ALL WEEK, NOTHING LIKE TOMMY'S INUNDATION I HOPE. TOMMY WILL HAVE TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET TO GO OUT IN HIS BACKYARD.

TOMORROW I'M LOCKING FORWARD TO NOT GETTING UP AT 0430 :-)

We knocked out 4 episodes tonight. It has it's moments. On one of the episodes we thought somebody changed the show we were watching. It seemed like a whole different show. They were just doing some background in Vegas. lol
