ANOTHER MINIMALIST RAIN SHOWER THIS MORNING, ENOUGH TO SETTLE THE DUST. KINDA COOL AND DRIPPY OUT THERE, THE WEATHER BOFFINS SAY THE RAIN IS ABOUT DONE, IF THEY RUN TRUE TO FORM WE'LL HAVE A FROG-STRANGLER NOW.

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA, DNBFS ALL DAY.

Greetings! Another beautiful day out there - I hope it isn't completely consumed by chores. The neighbors behind me are having their old deck torn down and a new one built - they said it was going to cost around $25,000. The neighbor house's original owner and I both put in our decks in 1990, similar size - he had his built by a contractor, and it cost $5000 and took less than a week. I did mine myself and it cost about $1500, but took me most of the summer. 7 years ago I re-did my decking and railings myself with maintenance-free stuff, and it cost me about $7000. So my aches and pains were worth about $21,500. Makes me feel better.

Good luck, Marcus! Meanwhile, I think the Goofers will have their work cut out for them tonight.

Have a great day, Gurus!

Colder and rainy in the Philadelphia area.

Hey guys...still cloudy and cool here. I did get the panels planed, cut to size and raised before we had to leave for the ‘city’. We re-did our deck this summer too with the composite material and an aluminum hand rail...did it myself, still cost me around $3500. Neighbor across the alley talked to a contractor about doing theirs, and it was $35k... more extensive than mine and an enclosed area, but still.

!?

Wow—I can think of a lot of higher priorities for the house if I have $35k hanging around …

Uffda, just saw the final score of the Nebraska game - somebody keep Marcus away from sharp objects.

Watching the KC-Twins game.....Wishing our young pitcher could have completed the perfect game or even the no hitter, but it wasn't meant to be. Quite a pitching display though.

Decking around our house is concrete - it does need repairs but minimal. There's more stuff inside the house I want done that that mess outside. One thing at a time. Then it will be time to start over.
I've been online trolling craiglist. Should not have done that. I have about 48 windows open of crap I want, none of which I can afford. One including a 'field find' of an orignal special edition charger for 1500$. No title of course and I want it. That alone will keep me up all night.
