Was reading in the AARP magazine about a guy that retired to Florida and compared it to living on a giant cruise ship. Never thought of it that way but he's kinda right. Still gonna go on my cruises though. Next one up is on December 8th. San Juan, St Thomas and Amber Cove, Dominican Republic are the ports. Love Old San Juan during the holiday season.

In local news, I've been requested to man the nursery at least for the morning. Probably for a good part of the day though. We've been moving plants and putting down new ground cloth. One day I'll be able to relax. That's it ..... Just one day .......... (That's one reason I cruise)

Here is a pic of part of my old crew in the P.O. Two of them I've worked with off and known for over 35 years. The guy in the front put in 44 + years in the USPS. All of us are retired now, at least from the USPS.

Morning guys....Alarm went off and I just turned it off, but then couldn't go back to sleep, so I'm up.

Chilly now, 25, and headed to low 50s.

I've got a few small things to do until mail comes in, then, I anticipate several things to arrive, some of which need to be done today. Packed my bag for the week as we will leave tomorrow whe Rosie gets off work...she hopes to get away a little early so we don't arrive in KC too late.

Yea, Tommy, I have people say to me all the time "I thought you retired?"... "Well, I retired from teaching, not working" And, like you, I busier now than I was before I 'retired'.

Have a great day folks.

Hidey-ho! We are not too pleased with the Viqueens' performance last night, or lack thereof. But more often than not, it has been the same story since 1961. Should be a good game tonight, though.

Looks like a good crew there, Tommy.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

COLD, CALM, AND OVERCAST AT PRESENT, THE WEATHER BOFFINS PROMISE SUNSHINE LATER TODAY. THE CHEROKEES CAN LIVE WITH THAT, IF IT HAPPENS ;-)

AUTO-ROTATION DAY, IT'S HARVEY'S WEEK TO RUN. THE DIGITAL READ OUT IN THE CONVERTIBLE IS GETTING DIMMER AND DIMMER, A BATEE TREATMENT IS INEVITABLE I SUPPOSE.

THE CLAN IS GATHERING HERE FOR THANKSGIVING, NO HEAD COUNT YET, #1 GRANDSON AND THE WARRIOR PRINCESS WILL BE WITH HER FAMILY IN TEXAS FOR A WEDDING. I HAVE NOT YET BEEN GIVEN MY ASSIGNMENTS; THAT TOO IS INEVITABLE.

My assignments are well established....in fact they are written down on a sheet of paper called a list. Since I am taking some time off this week the list looms large.

the family is gathering here for the traditional dinner and football OD..... #1 daughter bringing her boyfriend....... hope he likes football...... Big Red will be playing on Friday......the last boyfriend she brought home was a flaming liberal from Portland....what the hell is with Portland anyway? He just didn't fit in around here......sorry if it was something I said.......

Have a groovy day Guru's....

Absolutely finished the big cabinet job this evening... The handles/knobs came in, so went over and drilled the doors/drawer fronts and installed them, she wrote me a check, so I'm done. Built a shelf for another lady, who called and asked me to come by and see if I could make one.

I think I'm officially done with major projects for the year.

Turned out to be a really nice day, 52 for a high, but a bit breezy, so felt cool. Tomorrow, more of the same. I have to make a quick run over to the 'city' in the morning for daughter and GS #1. Rosie is still planning on getting off early so we can head east.
