GOOD MORNING, GURUS---

CLEAR, COLD, AND CALM IN THE NATIONS, LOOKS LIKE A PRETTY DAY ON TAP.

WE'LL HEAD ON OVER TO OKMULGEE FOR DINNER WITH DAUGHTER #1 AND FAMILY. #1 GRANDSON AND THE WARRIOR PRINCESS ARE GOING TO JAPAN THE 20TH FOR A DELAYED HONEYMOON AND SO WILL MISS CHRISTMAS WITH THE REST OF US.

HARVEY'S GAS GAGE NOW COINCIDES WITH THE GAS TANK AGAIN. THE TROUBLE STARTED A WHILE BACK WHEN I OVER-FILLED THE TANK AND EVENTUALLY GOT TO WHERE THE GAUGE ALWAYS SHOWED FULL. A SENDER UNIT TRANSPLANT FIXED THAT :-)

Howdy! I was up at the crack of 9 this morning, I must be slipping. Actually, I have to get cracking on cooking in a bit. I don't cook much other than grilling in the summer (I have been accused of using the smoke alarm as a timer), but I think I can handle this:

3-envelope pot roast:

Pot roast
1 envelope McCormick's brown gravy mix
1 envelope Hidden Ranch ranch dressing mix
1 envelope Good Seasons Italian dressing mix

Pour contents of the 3 envelopes into a 2-cup measuring cup and stir together, then fill measuring cup with water and stir. Place roast in crock pot, pour contents of measuring cup over roast, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes.

We shall see - my sister says it is great. If it isn't, well, a lot of restaurants deliver nowadays.

Enjoy your Sunday, Gurus!

Come on, that's going to be great. MMMM.....brown gravy on mashed potatoes ....... oh yeah.....that's winter food now..... I better write down the recipe....... course I don't know if throwing 3 paks of stuff in water and then over a roast in a crock pot as cooking.... but will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Helping get the Christmas dec's out. I'm in charge of lights. I can string them and they are letting me plug them in this year. Seems there have been some fuses blown in the past and small fires...... nothing too bad...no really......

have a vonderful vonderful day Guru's

Morning guys...up early and to church. Will be headed to the recital pretty soon....it appears that #3 is in charge of getting the food there for the lunch after the first recital session.

It’s a pretty day, 47 already with light breezes, up here they call it “windy”, but it’s not really. Headed for, highs in the mid 50s.

We will have to get up and on the road pretty early in the morning, to get to Wichita for my appointment. Not sure if I’ll have time to post before then or not, so have a wonderful day.

Good afternoon, all.

Gory but not that cold (39 right now) in the Philadelphia area. It was a little warmer yesterday, so I did some winter prep—getting windshield washer fluid in all four cars, cleaning and putting away our insect trap, and filling the gas tank on the snow blower.

Gris' mention in yesterday's thread on how he's not as happy as he usually is on the run-up to Christmas made me think of one of my minor gripes related to the holiday: why are the butter cookies in tins not nearly as good as they were twenty to thirty years ago? They have less taste than they used to and the sugar granuals have gone almost completely missing. O tempora o mores!

Ho!Ho!Ho!

Back from vacation and a good one it was. Ate well, slept well, enjoyed both St John and San Juan. Of course there was an occasional visit to the casino. Had $500 free play and got another $200 on a Hot Seat promotion. I was up from the poker table on the first night and gave it to the slots. The rest of the cruise I pretty much played slots. Or shall I say .... the slots played me .... Really it was up and down but more down than up. Fun time none the less. The new slot machine I played was called the Mistress Of Egypt. I should have known with a name like that I was sure to get f@(%ed.

I’m with ya, John....they aren’t as good as they;used to be....and with my mom gone, nobody makes them like she did....

Good turn out for the recital. GD#3 was wonderful (I’d be a bad grandpa if I didn’t say so, even if it wasn’t true)

Need to take a shower and get stuff, more or less, packed up, so we can get a quick start in the morning.

Welcome back Tommy.
