CLOUDY, COLD, WET, AT LEAST IT'S NOT RAINING AT THE MOMENT. THE CHEROKEES ARE GRATEFUL FOR SMALL FAVORS. SEEM LIKE THE NATIONS AVOIDED THE WORST OF THE FROZEN STUFF WHILE OKLAHOMA TERRITORY TOOK A HIT.

LETTY, IN GARLAND YOU'RE JUST WEST OF MY CHILDHOOD HOME IN ROCKWALL. IN MY DAY IT WAS A LITTLE COTTON FARMING TOWN, NOW IT HAS THE HIGHEST PER CAPITA INCOME OF ANY COUNTY IN TEXAS (DALLAS MONEY). IT'S STILL COUNTY SEAT OF THE SMALLEST COUNTY IN THE STATE, 12 MILES SQUARE :-)

GOT TO RUN SOME ERRANDS TODAY, RESTOCK FEED FOR THE ANIMALS.
DARLING WIFE MAY GO TO WESTERN OK FOR THE FUNERAL OF HER DAD'S SECOND WIFE. I WON'T GO, IT'S NOT POLITE TO GLOAT---
NOT SURE WHAT SHAPE THE ROADS ARE IN OUT THERE.

Bird battle forges on. This morning I saw he had caught a fair sized cichlid. Upon my exit from the house he launched airborne with the still wiggling fish in his beak. When I quickly assembled the fish line barrier recently, I ran it with two lines, not three like I did last year. I'll do some mods on the pool barrier later today. So far it's no big deal to lose a few fish to him since I really have too many now. When I close all the loopholes he will move on to greener pastures and find a new fishing hole. I beat him last year, I'll beat him this year. Cheap entertainment for a guy that spends a lot of time around the house.

Point to ponder ......

Instead of a heron, why cant I have a stray gypsy trying to wrangle a fish or two from my pond? Well, at least I have a lot less trouble with a heron .......

Herons can clear a pond pretty quickly so you have to be mindful of their abilities.

Indeed quite the beautiful, uhm bird there. I'd shoot the other one and have a bbq.
Cool information Gris on the Garland area! 12 square miles is pretty tiny.
Slow again at the office today, have one phone call to make and doing the cover for the side job I'll be starting when I get back, nothing else. It's STILL raining and gloomy here. All my houseplants are dying. The big black elephant ear is all drooped over in the floor, I'm guessing its' done for. The flowers that were surrounding it in the pot are all dead but a couple. I give up. Pissed off.
Have a good day y'all

THAT'S 12 MILES SQUARE, LETTY, 144 SQUARE MILES :-) STILL PRETTY SMALL FOR TEXAS.

IT CLEARED OFF AND THE SUN IS SHINING ON THE CHEROKEES AND ME TOO. WHOO WHOO!
LOVE IT!

Hey guys...slept in, then didn't do too much. Went out to the shop but didn't get much done. Our priest called me nd asked if I could help move something...it wasn't too heavy so we got that done. I need to get a shower and then shuttle #3 GS to practice and then we have home ball games this afternoon/evening, so I'll be at school by 4:30 for the first game.

It has warmed up today...43 now and the ice and snow on the streets are melting. good news there.
