CLOUDY, CALM, AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. THE WATERS ARE STILL RECEDING.

AFTER I READ TEE'S LAST POST I HAD TO TAKE A NAP :-) HIS TAG PIC SHOULD BE THE ENERGIZER BUNNY RATHER THAN HIS CAR.

I'LL HEAD OVER TO MUSKOGEE AFTER BREAKFAST AND GET HARVEY'S OIL CHANGED AND PICK UP THE TOMATO SOMETIME TODAY. MIGHT PUT THE WHITE TOP ON HARVEY, BUT IT HAS NOT GOT HOT ENOUGH FOR THE GLASS TOP TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE.

Russia donated $0.00 to the Trump campaign. Russia donated $145,600,000 to the Clinton Foundation. But Trump was the one investigated!

Morning guys....cloudy and cool this morning but headed to upper 80 to low 90s. I have things to do again, hopefully a little less mentally challenging. I need a break from that.

I do, however, have at least 8 more of the firesticks to install.

Better get to doing something. Have a great day.

Same here... cloudy and cool... but where I live, we are close to the ocean, and that means really cool... The high won't hit 70 if the sun doesn't come out.

I mentioned my smog hell... I found the most anal smog station in SoCal... most stations care about the results 0 does the car sniff clean, or, in the case of ODBII, the computer scan. And my C6 passed accordingly... until they just had to validate the CARB EO# of the BBK Cold Air Intake. Apparently, BBK only had the intake certified for 2005... even tho it fits 2005-2007... and they flunked me for tampering.

Not happy... I went looking for a fix and NO ONE makes an aftermarket cold air intake... oh, and BBK was useless.

So I had to go OEM. After finding a used one for $250 on ebay, I got new filters and swapped it... then still had to pay $25 for a retest.

I then head down for the retest... and the tech says my car is federal and not CA approved!!! OMG! I have to go to a dealer to get some test done and get a sticker. I swear, how many more things are they going to dig up?

I was now about livid. The DMV inspector said the car was ok...

So the tech heads to the car again and shows me the smog sticker... which clearly states "certified for federal and CA standards". Duh, the car is legal.

So he does the retest.

The reality is that ODBII standards are the same for all 50 states. The difference is in enforcement.

I suspect every car says the same thing now...

I keep telling my friends I'd like to move to Cali. Those I know there tell me "no, don't". One bunch I know just moved from there to Ohio. They miss the climate and not much else, they said. Very nice here but rain due for the weekend. Figures. We took our Missouri trip to see friends this past weekend and it was supposed to rain here but was nice. Now that we're home and want to be in the pool, we won't be able to. Sleep instead I guess. While there we hit some big flea markets, all day long on Saturday. Sunday we opted to fix a buckling sidewalk for them and another crumbling busted section. The 2nd section was an after thought so 24 bags of quickrete later - she has a safer sidewalk to go across. Her with horrible rheumatoid and fibro, etc, and he's now 67 and has enough to keep him busy, didn't hurt us to do something nice for them for putting us up the weekend.
She did keep sending photos to her son up the road who said "wouldn't it be nice to have a son that would do that for you?" They had a laugh, he's a doctor there and busy as hell and his wife works too and they also have 3 growing boys to chase. She cooked daily and even made me a bday cake (red velvet from a very old recipe I gave her a while back).
Back to the daily grind now, except it's slow at the office so it'll be a long day.

DROVE AROUND SOME OF THE NEWLY EMERGED COUNTRYSIDE WHEN WE WENT TO PICK UP THE TOMATO.

MARCUS, THE FARMERS ARE HIT HARD. SO MUCH SOIL HAD WASHED AWAY FROM ONE FIELD THE FENCE POST HOLES WERE STICKING TWO FOOT OUT OF THE GROUND.

THE NEW BILSTINES ARE NICE, I COULD FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. THEY NOT BE CHEAP THOUGH---

Back from Boston. We flew back and forth on Jet Blue. Everything including TSA check points were just fine. Slight delay leaving Boston but no big deal. Beantown was great. Had the biggest family gathering I expect to see for the rest of my life. As one sister said "It will be a classic." Mom is in her final resting place beside my brother and can go visit my father and Grands about 10 feet away. Went downtown for some bakery items and a cappocino (sp) in the North End. Out to dinner a couple of times and a big gathering at my nephews house. Met up with an old friend and his wife. We've stayed in touch through the years. Nature walk and a walk through downtown when we went to the bakery. Glad to be home (I think). The weather there was great. 60's and 70's. I got to use one of my leather jackets.
