SUNNY, CALM, AND COOL AT THE MOMENT, MORE HEAVY RAIN PREDICTED TODAY AND TOMORROW. JUST WHAT WE NEED :-|

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA TODAY, COULD BE A TWO NAPPER---

THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS:

Researchers have found that the majority of those attacked by crocodiles in East Timor in the past 11 years were subsistence fishing, using small canoes or wading in the water.

AIN'T SCIENCE WONDERFUL?

Morning guys...nice start to the morning. 70 now headed to low 80s and breezy.

Today we honor those who sacrificed everything to protect our freedoms on a far away beach in Europe. Both those who never saw the end of that day and those who made through, even as far as today are part of the greatest generation. My hat and gratitude go off to you.

I've been busy this morning doing paperwork (gee, my favorite thing in the world to do...NOT) This afternoon, I have several things to get done. It's going to be a busy day. And tomorrow, I will deliver the table. I've got a guy here in town to help with loading it up and two more to help me up at the delivery point.

I have a couple of tall utility cabinets to build, starting as soon as I get the table out.

I hope all of you have a great day.

Just saw the table posted yesterday, very nice job!
A special thank you and measure of gratitude for those many years ago who put themselves aside for the greater good of all of us, and for the families who didn't get their loved one back home, for all for what they gave.
Raining here, supposed to for four days straight, heavy storms at times. It missed my house the other night but really tore up stuff at a friends here in town I work at (13 miles difference).
Ya'll behave

So many charging the beach under orders of their commanding officers. The drive and spirit of those that fought I believe is all in the past. Today a well trained soldier is sent into combat with technical and robotic support. Sure he has drive and spirit but somehow it's not he same. I'm sure that some have it though. The term we used was"Ate up". I salute the men and women who without their great sacrifice we would not be what we are today. Unfortunately, if they saw what we are today they might have chose to go AWOL instead.

Worked in the nursery this morning, The electrician and team got the box hooked up to our recently installed underground wiring. The electric company did their part and the electrician did his. The juice is all hooked up underground now like Sue wanted. $$$ I worked on the pond and golf carts. 5 1/2 hours and out. Yesterday 2 1/2 hous there cutting grass. (Ya, I keep track)

I JUST FINISHED WILLIAM MANCHESTER'S BOOK ABOUT HIS WW II EXPERIENCE. (HE WAS A SNOBBISH EAST COAST LIBERAL BUT HE SURE COULD WRITE WELL) HE WAS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME OPINION AS YOU.
I'M NOT. THE GUYS IN VIET NAM WERE AS GOOD AS ANYBODY EVER WAS. IN 1966 I TOOK THE BEST PLATOON OF CAVALRY SINCE BEDFORD FORREST'S ESCORT TO NAM, ALL DRAFTEES BUT ME AND THE NCOS. AND THE GI'S IN '70-'71 WERE AS GOOD. NAPOLEON SAID THERE ARE NO BAD TROOPS, JUST BAD OFFICERS.

Unfortunately, if they saw what we are today they might have chose to go AWOL instead.

AND THAT'S NOT FAR FROM THE TRUTH.

Gris, not to shun Vietnam vets. Hell, they were the ones that manned the unpopular war. I'm sure the participants of Desert Storm did so with patriotic zeal. My thoughts are the men, viewing the carnage on Omaha Beach, charged forward. Man after man getting shot or hit by artillery fire. The surf was red with blood and when the gate dropped they pressed forward past bodies of the dead and dying. Heroism on a massive scale not unlike the conquering armies of the Greeks, Romans, Galls, soldiers under Alexander the Great, Genghis Kahn and more. I guess my point is the sheer size of the armies gathered for a cause who were willing to lay down their lives under the command of their officers without question. Today's youth questions everything. I believe that was the point was trying to make. Listen to me or read anything I write and it's enough to confuse anybody. Even me.
