All is on time for my scheduled departure for Summer Escape 2019. A little paperwork, a quick run over the yard with the mower and maybe a little work out back on the bathroom. I'll be ready to take a few pics of that endeavour a few days after I return from vacation.
On certain periods of my life I have felt a shift in the force, usually associated around the decades. I had a long run between 50 and this birthday. I am noticing I'm struggling to keep up with undertaking what was once a routine physical day for me. Most noticeable is the lower back and associated muscles and nerves. I injured my back a number of times through the years because I'm stubborn and do things I really should have help with or misjudge weight. Soon I will undertake the decking and floors with plywood sheets. I just did some work on Sue's shed with same. I move the sheets often times by myself. I can see the window of me doing that closing. That's why I'm doing what I'm doing now with building stuff. Sooner rather than later I can see I won't be doing much heavy lifting. The writing is on the wall except someone I know doesn't see it and has never seen it despite my repeated warnings. That's why I issued the countdown to 65. That's when for the most part I hope to retire-retire. Not that I won't help. As a spouse you HAVE to help. But as a lesser contributor and NO HEAVY LIFTING. I've already reduced much of that. Still, I'm putting 10-20 hours a week in helping Sue at the nursery. Goal for me at 65 is under 8 hours a week and not on the same day. And NO SALES. I hate doing Vulcan sales. lol. You know what "they" say. If you have a goal put it in writing.

Morning guys...We are loaded up and ready to head east. Meeting up with Marcus early Sunday morning and then on to BG, KY.

I hear you Tommy! I can't do the physical things like I used to. Hefting those sheets around like I used to just doesn't happen like it used to.

Happy birthday to you Tommy. I hope you have a great one.

Better hit the road, I'll check in later.

Happy birthday Tom!
Now that the C8 has debuted, maybe the C5-6’s prices will tank like the C4’s did, and I’ll be able to get one!

Well, we made it to KC. Traffic was heavy, as soon as we hit I70 and headed east. Set the cruise at 81 and just let 007 run. I told Rosie, the AC worked good in him. It kept us very comfortable all the way here, and the temps reached as high as 101 at one point.

Time for a nap here. It’s just GS and I here, as Rosie, #1 and one of the GDs went to the mall to do some shopping.
