Good Morning CGs!

Still hot here with high humidity. Makes it tough to work outside (and in the garage). I haven't had a chance to try out the new exhaust clamps yet, maybe today. I'm also supposed to do a little side job on my neighbor's car, a parking brake adjustment on a 2012 Jetta. Not a major task but I guess the shop that did his brakes couldn't do it correctly. Of course there's a specific factory procedure that sounds like a PIA according to the info I printed off Alldata. We'll see. Hopefully I have the right tools...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning guys.... Well, we finally got some rain last night. About the time we went to bed the storms moved in. Thunder and lightning off and on all night...even still this morning. Upper 80s as the predicted highs today, so a little relief from the upper 90s and 100s.

Not a lot going on. I'll finish a wooden cross I was commissioned to build to honor a gentleman from our church who passed and his request of a wood cross to mark his burial place. I created, what I think, is a fitting tribute, without going overboard.

I have some bathroom cabinets to get started on as well, so plenty of work to do.

I sold my bandsaw yesterday too.

Have a great day folks.

OMG.....how can you build anything without a band saw......?

Cool and cloudy in Huskerland.....makes me want to sleep.... seasons coming to a close. a couple of more rains and some farmers will never even have had to irrigate their crops. I can't ever remember that happening before.

Ok the coffee is kicking in....... have a great day Guru's

I still have the one I've had for 38 years, my trusty old (like vintage 1946) Delta 14" Bandsaw...the one I sold is the one I bought for $50, put another $125 into, and sold yesterday for $600

Hey tee! What kind of wood are you using to build the cross. I imagine it would have to be some hardy stock to withstand the elements for years to come.

Did 5 car registrations yesterday of which two were vanity tag replacements. Total bill came in at $291. The line was reasonable. The day before the parking lot was so packed that I checked twice and put it off a day. I'm glad I did. All the motor vehicles have vanity plates while the trailers just get what they get. I'm thinking grass cutting today. Try to do the nurseries and the house. Should be no problem. We'll see. Storms are always a routine part of a Florida Summer. Did I ever mention how I feel about Florida summers?

Cloudy and wet here, storms came through yesterday and absolutely trashed our yard front and back. Spent till dark picking up, repotting plants, fishing things out of the pool, you name it. Rain due again today and 50% tomorrow. My plans tomorrow are to sleep in till at least 9 then if it's still dreary I suppose I'll do some inside cleaning. The garage is in horrible shape. Need to get off my but and get started painting and what not in there.
have a happy day y'all and behave

I built the cross from some treated yellow pine, that I salvaged from another project. It was probably 10 years old, since it was first used as framework for a ramp. 6 years since it was torn down and been laying out by my storage shed since then. Well seasoned, pretty straight and rustic looking. The pieces were 2 x 10s, but I cut them down to be 2 x 6 size. They were doubled up on the thickness so the finished dimensions are 8' 6" tall, cross arm is 46" and 2 5/8" thick. We will bury 2' of the cross in the ground, leaving it about 6 1/2' tall above ground.
