No kidding...... I like the part about the women did all the work..... uh don't tell my wife I said that.........

sun is out but its cold.... holiday is over and its back to normal...got work to do so better get with it......

Went to see Ford Vrs Ferrari last night and enjoyed it. Well acted and although they took liberalities with the story it made for a good movie. I recommend it....even my wife liked it.....

Have a sparkling day Guru's.....

Winds here have finally died down. Strong enough to blow your hair off your head yesterday. Sunny at least. Not today tho but it’s warmer. Of course the nice days start tomorrow when I’m back at work. Sitting at the foot surgeons office waiting on my turn for an X-ray. Supposed to get stitches out. Would love to be rid of this storm trooper boot while I’m at it. Fingers crossed

Hey guys, like Tommy said, busy day. Last evening, about 6, Rosie started warming up the last of the turkey leftovers. About a minute into the warm-up the microwave stops cold, lights go out, no power. I start doing a little research and youtube people say a common thing is for the fuse to go out inside the microwave. I've checked the breaker, it's not tripped, so I drop the microwave down (it's one of those that sits above the stove). I pull the cover off and sure enough there is a ceramic fuse, I pull out the digital multimeter and check the fuse.....nope it's fine....sh!t. So I start the search for a new microwave (this one is only three years old) I find a similar one at Menards, on sale in stock. So Rosie and I jump in the car and head over to purchase a new microwave. We just barely got there in time, picked it up and headed home. Got home and drilled new holes in the cabinet, mounted the bracket to the wall and got it up and mounted in place, plugged it in and.....NOTHING! WTF??? Pull out the meter again and check the outlet, 45 volts....WTF?? Pull the cover off the breaker box and start checking things in there...all is good. Make a few other checks and figure out I have no idea.... while I'm doing that Rosie gabs an extension cord and plugs in (to another outlet) the old microwave and it comes to life. By now it's after 10, I'm tired, pissed and not thinking straight. I figure I'll call my electrician buddy and see if he'll come over and help me out.

This morning I sent him a text asking him to call me when he can. About 15 minutes later he does, I explain what happened and he comes over and starts checking some things and find I have an open neutral, He and I decide to pull in a new wire...it's only about 4 feet back to the panel. Then I figure out that the two boxes are on different sides of a stud and it won't pull, so I grab the saw and cut out a big chunk of sheetrock so I can feed the wire.....SH!T, it doesn't go straight back to the panel, but through another outlet....So buddy pulls the outlet out and does a couple checks and everything is fine....he says, here's the problem, this connection (a couple of neutral wires twisted together) was loose and not making connection. He took his lineman pliers twis=ted them tight and put a new wirenut on it, and started putting it back together...I asked "Aren't we going to check if that fixed it first?" He says, "Put it back together and it will work." OK, so I put everything back together turn on the breaker and everything works like it should.....Well, I can take the microwave back and get our money back for that, but I now have sheetrock to repair on top of everything else..... We'll be back to normal in a couple days, once I finish the sheetrock.

After he leaves, Rosie and I say, Let's take the microwave back...so our third trip to the 'city' in less than 24 hours.

I put the first coat of mud on the sheetrock and then my electrician buddy calls me and says "You want to trade out the labor?" "Sure what can I help you with?" "I need to move a TV." "OK, I'll be there in a few." The TV is an old Vizio Plasma 55" and this sucker is heavy, and in the basement. We load it up in his pickup and haul it out to a family that experienced a house fire a couple weeks ago and lost almost everything. They are living in the garage until they can get things straightened out.

Back home just in time for the trucking company to call saying they have my cabinets and will be there in 30 minutes. so over to the school to meet them, load them into the pickup and head home to unload.

As you can tell, it's been a busy day.

Oh. it was cold to start, but by the time the afternoon came around, it had warmed up into the low 50s and a fairly warm southerly wind. More of the same tomorrow and Wednesday.
