Finished caulking the inside of the outside bathroom. Primer on the inside walls and floor on the agenda for today as I inch closer to the finish. Mainly painting is what's left. A little trim around a door. The outside is primed but need to put on a top coat. Next project is tackling the metal spiral staircase. Needs to be sanded, primed and painted as well. That will be like redoing the exterior of a small car. ...... Never bored.

Good Morning CGs!

The boy is still sick. Just got off the phone with the doctor's office and waiting to see what they want to do.

Now that TB is retired he's going to open a business:

TB's smoked meats, pastries, auto repair, cabinet building and installation, drywall, CNC cutting, but not plumbing warehouse.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning guys... I was tired last night and went to bed early. Not much on the agenda today, except a trip over to the 'city' and church this afternoon.

Matt, neighbor came by, while I was working yesterday, and told me I could go into business doing brake jobs.....No, it's too hard of work for an old guy like me.

Did you mean the Christmas Beer Gris? for consumption...... last night I stopped at the local Casey's convenience store for fuel in the pickup truck and bought a couple of 25 oz Bud Lite Chelada's..... or what we used to call a Red beer or tomato beer...... these use Clamato juice and has kind of a spicy kick to it......... I have been seeing quite a few of the Chelada empty cans in the ditch as I walk the dogs and usually stop to pick up the litter and curse those that poop in their own nests......but you can always tell what is popular by what empty's you find in the ditch......

anyway I found it was quite good as I had one wid supper and consider it health food and a serving of vegetables... I give it 4 stars....

Tee Bee what kind of shock did you put on 007? and how did you know it was time? my GS has 65K miles and seems to be just fine when I drive it...... none of the shocks are leaking that I can see......

I did have new rotors and pads installed last spring but even those could have gone another year easy...... please tell all here....

Headed up later to my wife mother's 90th Bday...... big party lots of folks coming....... I will try to stay out of everyone's way.....

Have a groovy day Guru's.....

Pics before the paint. I prefer pt plywood over sheet rock for these type projects. I can easily hang anything on the walls. Don't have to worry about moisture on any surfaces. Now there is a cabin style office/bedroom/bathroom out back. It's really a nice little place. Has a mini fridge. Add a little microwave and a Coleman stove and you can stay back there. One might say it's a damn nice doghouse.

That little shed/office looks really good, Tommy.

Marcus, I have been looking at the rotors and noticing they are not flat anymore....Wavy, the pads still had some meat about 1/3 left, but once off, the rotors showed some pretty good wear and a ridge on them front and back. As for the shocks.....I just figured that beings I had things torn down that far, I may as well change them out. I went with Bilstein B8s, I think, whatever are the Z51 replacement equivilents. As it turned out, none of the shocks were leaking and still rebounding well. I gave them to my neighbor down the street for his 2003, he has two that are leaking.

I was reading in one of my car mags that most of the brake dust is from the rotors......like 92%..... I'm like....whaaaa? always thought it was the pads....... everyone changes pads so they have less dust..... I did..... I guess it did not make any difference...... hmmmm....

NO, HARD STUFF. I LOVE BEER BUT MORE THAN TWO BOTTLES GIVE ME A MIGRAINE-CLASS HEADACHE, SOME FERMENTATION BYPRODUCT, I THINK. SAME THING WITH WINE; NO SUCH PROBLEM WITH WHISKY UNLESS I FALL OVER AND HIT MY HEAD :-)

DIDN'T BILLH MAINTAIN THAT SHOCKS STARTED TO LOOSE EFFECTIVENESS AT 2OK MILES? THE BILSTEINS ON MY CARS ARE WELL PAST THAT, FEEL JUST FINE. THE NO-NAME SHOCKS THAT CAME ON THE TOMATO DID START TO LOOSE EFFECTIVENESS AFTER A LITTLE OVER 20K.

hey Tommy, yesterday my brother-in-law was showing me a picture of a house his friend is building in Florida. A huge mansion built completely out of cinder block. Is that pretty normal?

Yes. Concrete columns and tie beams, cinder block walls and wood truss and plywood deck roofs. Termites are a problem in Florida. They use more wood in Northern Florida. There are three different temperate zones in the state. Block houses are stronger also to withstand the hurricanes.

Thanks. Just looked unusual seeing a million dollar cinder block house. Different regions I guess.

I believe that is correct, Gris. I think the ride has improved on mine. Love the Bilsteins......

I would probably agree with that assumption, Marcus. When you get the wheels wet when they have brake dust on them they rust like crazy, the pads aren't all that much iron, even though they are "metallic" pads.
