Working on my off day to make up for the holiday. In the middle of two wraps and a couple other odd and end things up here. Should (hopefully) be nice and quiet since nobody expects me to be here.
Rainy and gloomy again today and cold. Perfect day to have stayed in bed. I could've just come in Monday but that day is supposed to be decent so I don't want cooped up in an office on a nice day.
Just a few more hours till the weekend

Short cruise has ended. Left on Monday. Back on Friday. Got off the ship by 08:30 and was home by 09:30. Sue was back to work by 10:30. I'm putting the luggage away and doing laundry plus associated return tasks. New Years Eve was great on the cruise. The whole casino shut down around 10 till and we all watched the countdown on TV. Afterward we went back to the poker table and continued in the revelry. Knew some of the casino staff from previous cruises. We did alright the first couple of days then went into a slide spiraling downward. Stayed within budget so all is good. pain in the ass going through Customs with cigarettes. They always make a big deal about it. If you declare it they are supposed to charge a tax of $10 per carton for anything over one carton. It's a bother for most of them so they usually just let you pass and usually go on about you are only allowed one carton per person. Ya, one carton and pay the tax for any additional. I feel like throwing the cartons overboard as sort of a tax rebellion but that would only be hurting my wallet. On the ship they want to sell you duty free stuff. On land they want to bitch about you buying it because they're supposed to collect the duty on any over some minimal amount they allow. Vulcan bullspit. All these laws pushed through by corporate America to protect their profits and of course the government can't help but collect a nice sin tax. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program. Hah. The new year has hardly begun and I've got my briefs in a twist already.

Good afternoon, all.

It's Ivelis's birthday, which we're spending quietly. We went for a walk this morning on Forbidden Drive in Philadelphia's Wissahickon Velley Park:

This evening, we're going to a local Ruth's Chris, where Ivelis is hoping to find an exact repeat of the ribeye she had at the Ruth's Chris in New Orleans last month.

Hey guys...slept in this morning, 9:30....getting close to those efforts made by our long lost friend, Brad. After getting up I got a phone call from the lady needing to bring the trim over for me to spray the finish on. So I went out to help her unload it. As soon as she left I laid out the first 18 pieces and started spraying. She had only brought about a third of the pieces, and she headed off to get the rest, and by the time she got back, I had one coat sprayed on and sanded.

While that was drying good I went over to the storage garage, and loaded up the miter saw, compressor and nail gun and took it back over to the kitchen remodel I did so they could finish up putting baseboard on.

Back home I sprayed finish on the boards again and prepped the next batch and when the first ones were done, I did the next batch and then the next...now I'm waiting to move the fourth batch in after giving it the second coat and I'm done for the night.

Oh, in between the guy putting the baseboard on sends a text saying he's done and I can come get my tools, so I run by there and haul tools off, talk with the couple and they cannot stop thanking me for all my work and trying to fugure out how they are going to pay me....NO NEED TO EVEN THINK OF PAYING ME, but thank you anyway.
