CLEAR, CALM, AND COLDISH IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. LOVE THAT SUNSHINE!

GOT OUT AND HAD THE OIL CHANGED ON MY TRUCK. HOME HEALTH SHOWED UP SO I HAD A CHANCE TO GET OUT. TIME TO GET THE HUMMINGBIRD FEEDERS OUT, I'LL HAVE TO GO GET SUGAR.

THERE'S A "GOOD-GOD" HANGING AROUND THE AREA, I'LL HAVE TO WATCH OUT IT DOESN'T GO TO WORK ON THE HOUSE. THEY CAN BE VERY DESTRUCTIVE AND ARE EXTREMELY SHY, HARD TO GET CLOSE TO. THE NEW AIR RIFLE MAY BE A CURE FOR THAT.

THE BIRD POPULATION IN GENERAL SEEMS TO BE DOWN. THE BARN PHOEBES ARE NESTING BUT THE HOUSE PHOEBES NEVER CAME BACK.
BIRDSEED EXPENSES ARE DOWN:-)

Yard day unless it rains on me. There is potential for that. Hot and humid. Alas .... "This is the life we have chosen. " I guess on a positive note the transition to summer will be easy. Looks like it will be a looooooong summer.

Was sad to see the poor people impacted by the tornadoes. Not looking forward to hurricane season this year at all. No matter I guess. I know what I have to do.

Good morning, all.

Another chilly but otherwise lovely day in the Philadelphia area.

Morning guys... sunny and cool, turning cold later and chance of snow.

Not much on the agenda, working in the shop pretty soon.

Ya.....up early and home late yesterday with farmers cramming in all they could before today.... of which it is 35 degrees and snowing sideways..... lovely...... for the love of Pete when will it ever end......

I got into the office today and a swarm of ants had found some leftover brownie that I did not finish.... a mass extinction followed in which poisonous chemicals were used... had to happen they had become unruly.....

More later from the great State of Nebraska......

Typical day in SoCal... mostly sunny, mid 60's... supposed to turn cloudy as the day progresses. No rain, thankfully!

The addition to our house is a slab, whereas the rest of the house is on an elevated foundation. The slab either has settled or was poured lower than the soil level on the west side. There is a fire place and this inset space between the fireplace and the main house, where the addition joins.

That area is prone to collecting water and it's gotten to the point where previously bad attempts to fix this have started to really fail... the problem? LEAKS! That nook between the fireplace and the main house is a leak point. I noticed this last year and it has since gotten worse. The heavier the rain, the greater the problem. It has reached critical mass now... it leaked into the addition - the family room - about 12' into the room! Boxes sitting on the carpet were soaked.

I have a claim starting with out home owners, but water/flood/leak problems are sooooo hard to claim on. It really annoys me, because we do not live in a flood plain, why should I need special insurance for a rain caused leak? My agent agrees, it's making the underwriters agree. Sigh.

Andy, it wasn't a leak from outside. It was the closest bathroom that was leaking from a defective solder joint. Silly you. Ya. That's what happened. A bathroom leak.

Solar job starts here at the house Monday at 07:00 A.M. I was up on the roof cleaning a moldy plastic cover over the tortoise pen. If that's clean it can't spread to the panels is my thinking. I'm sure there will be a lot of banging and screwing going on up there so just for safety I'll put the car covers on the Porsches. I didn't have the cleaning on my agenda today but .... priorities. The roof was sunny and hot.

I know what you mean... according to my agent, if I had left a window open, that's covered... go figure.

Still in the early stages. should know more tomorrow!

Have fun with the solar. It will be amazing when you see the first bill, tho.

How big is the slab? Get you an 8 pound sledge hammer and go to work on it.....it has to come out.....then get someone to bring in a load of dirt and then haul it to the hole made by the slab with a wheelbarrow...... great workout......

I took Rosie and #2 over to the 'city'to pick up groceries, pick up some flowers for them to plant and look for some door knobs for the church hall project. Came home and stained the tables and worked on a little project for a client. This evening I'm grilling some chicken breasts.

It has been a really nice springtime day...until about 5pm when the north wind picked up and temps dropped like a rock...they are saying we have a possibility of snow tonight.

Well, like most moisture events, looks like this one is going to miss us this time.....we got about a foot of wind though. Supposed to blow through here early in the morning and be seasonably chilly tomorrow.
