Morning guys...Already made the trip over to the 'city' to exchange the non white lacquer for real white lacquer. They were very apologetic...nobodys' fault just a weird mistake.

Still not much rain here. The 'big rain' theyu were saying we were going to get ended up being a few sprinkles on the windshield. I know most of you folks have had WAY too much, we are on the other end of the scale. We've had, since the beginning of the year, maybe 2 1/2"......not anywhere near enough for the dry-land crops to survive. North, south, east and west of us got some rain over the weekend, somehow it just keeps missing us...like we are a donut hole.

Headed out to the shop pretty quick, I trust all of you will have a great day.

add us to the too much category.... its raining right now in fact..... all together we have had over 4" of the wet stuff...... I do know the lawn sure looks good though....

Gotta get back to work although I'm not feeling it...... I over indulged on ribs that I put in the smoker...... and am feeling sluggish this morning...... they were so good I could not stop eating them it seems...
I think I'm having a food hangover...... then there was the pie of course.........

OK it's out the door and back to work..... hope some things get here so I can get my cars and bikes finished..... seems like I been waiting on UPS for ever........... enjoy your day Guru's...

Good morning, all.

Seasonable late May weather in the Philadelphia area, which is a code word for "nice."

Ivelis and I are on "vacation" for the next two days, because my birthday is tomorrow (Wednesday). Normally, my birthday means a three to five day road trip, but the closest thing to a road trip today will be picking up takeout from a local steakhouse.

At a friend's suggestion, we watched the newer of the two "Midway" films yesterday evening. The CGI'd warships are stunningly beautiful—almost certainly too pretty. Below is the USS Enterprise (CV-6):

The basic plot is well known to anybody who knows their military history. Woody Harrelson is a surprisingly good Nimitz. Dennis Quaid is, of course, born to play Halsey.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Pool is officially open. Chem-bombed it yesterday and ran the pump. Kids got to swim today for a bit. I thought the water was a little cool at 72* but they didn't complain. Solar cover needs to go on and hopefully warm things up a bit.

Hope everyone is staying dry.

Hope everyone has a great day!

8" here ..... of rain. The flooding receded much to my delight. Caught just enough breaks in the rainfall to help. 10" of rain is guaranteed trouble for me. Dodged a wet bullet. Hurricane season starts in a couple days. Guess I'll have to do some seasonal flood damage avoidance and preparation in case we get another Irma like storm this year. If we get another Andrew like storm my love affair with Florida is over.

Hey guys, productive day. I got the newel posts set solid in the house. Top and bottom rails come tomorrow. Also installed a door jamb (no door) and the casing. Another one to do tomorrow.

Most of you folks have had more rain in the last week than we've had all year.

Happy early birthday, John.
