Listing this posting for my best friend. This is a fine automobile, but he has had it for a few years, and he made the mistake of taking a ride in my new C6 . I've ridden in this car for the last few years, it's always been well maintained, and mostly garage kept. If you are interested, please contact him:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2004 Pontiac GTO

This vehicle has just over 50K miles and has been well maintained and garage kept for the majority of its life. It is in pristine condition inside and out. The engine runs smooth, the transmission shifts firmly, and the paint shines like new. This is your opportunity to own the last of the GTO's produced to date, and probably one of the last great muscle cars! The car is mostly stock with the exception of a few light modifications to improve both performance and looks. These include:

GHL Cat Back Exhaust System and Kooks Ceramic Coated Headers (very agressive)

A 2005-2006 Rear bumper to accommodate the True Dual Exhaust

PBR (OEM) Big Brake Kit with Powder-Coated C6 Corvette Dual Piston Calipers, and Over-sized Rotors for Improved Stopping Power

Lingenfelter Performance Air Intake Setup

Vehicle has always been run on Full Synthetic Motor Oil

Transmission & Rear End Fluid also changed regularly

Clean Carfax

$13,500 OBO

Very clean looking car. And a cheap way to get into a quick ride. Good luck to him.

That'll be a good price for someone. I forwarded it to a few friends I thought might be interested.

I suspect Pontiac going under is going to hurt the price a bit on their newer used models also.

Great car and price.
It's a shame Pontiac decided to make the GTO look like all their other cars. It just seems to lack a character of it's own.

I would have preferred they kept the nameplate for something else and gave that one a new name. I don't think anyone who saw that car said "OMG, that's a GTO...awesome." Still too much nostalgia in the original Goats that people remember.

Agreed. It's a very nice, capable car. But the nameplate gives it baggage, a history to live up to. I was told that Pontiac decided to make the new goat as if it had evolved and they were building it all along. Smelled like BS to me.

Looks like a very nice deal on a sweet car.

I think people fail to realize that most of the GTOs were fairly uninspiring when they were on the roads in the 60s and 70s. It was just another affordable muscle car, like seeing a Mustang GT or Firebird nowadays.

Anyhow, the Holden Monaro was reborn in 2001, but it was derived from the Holden Commodore, which basically started as a plain jane sedan.

Here's a 68 Monaro, came with a 350 small block chevy, nothing to be ashamed of!

As Matthew said, its in good condition and its a quick ride that is comfortable for day to day driving. I suspect his price is a little high considering today's market, but its in good condition with a few expensive go fast parts, and what I consider low mileage. I wish him luck selling it... I know the next owner will have fun with it, I've driven it many times and its a blast to drive.

I know I shouldn't bring this thread back to life but I returned to the site in search of some information in regard to my 89 corvette I sold years ago. I stumbled across this thread and laughed. This car was put into storage and never sold... until this past year, when I bought it. How ironic.

Full circle! I also recently picked up a Pontiac. Does this have the LS1?

Full Circle... and I sold it finally after all those years... and bought another C4.

It did have the LS1 but I built a High Compression 6.0 for it which was never installed and is now sitting in my garage, with nothing to put it in

Unless.........................
