G'moanin.

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting
to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had
something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat,
making beer.. Always something more important to me. Finally she
thought of a clever way to make her point.
When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall
grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing
scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into
the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again
I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the
grass, you might as well sweep the driveway."
The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

The insurance company finally got back to me and they are giving me the agreed value. So that's a good thing. The car was towed out of the driveway yesterday morning. I just got back from the post office because I had to mail them the title. There is some damage to the driveway which I expected. The driveway guy is supposed to come by and take a look and give me some recommendations on what to do.

I said I wasn't going to jump into buying a new car right away but I've been looking already. I like the idea of an older muscle car but some of the prices out there are exorbitant for a nice 60s Mustang. And to be honest with you I'm not sure I would be happy with it performance and handling wise. I think I want either an early 90s Mustang Fox body or a C5 Corvette. But either one has to be a convertible and if it's a Corvette I want it modified, of course.

There is a 98 or 99 Corvette convertible on Facebook for sale not far from me for $10,000. It looks like a good driver condition car but it's all stock and if I can find one that's already modified for slightly more that would be better. I don't really want to spend $6,000 on a supercharger if I can buy one already on the car for two or three.

Hope everyone has a great day!

ANOTHER BRILLIANT HEADLINE.
TULSA'S ABC TV WEBSITE DECLARES 64 PERCENT OF MORE THAN HALF OF TPS TEACHERS FAVOR DISTANCE LEARNING.

LET'S SEE NOW, IS 64% OF MORE THAN HALF LESS THAN HALF OR MORE THAN HALF OR HALF???

THIS IS THE SAME OUTFIT THAT HABITUALLY REPORTS PEOPLE BEING KILLED AFTER AUTO ACCIDENTS.

A SHORTAGE OF ENGLISH MAJORS? WHO KNEW---

Your photo is right there Gris. And it’s a sad state that it’s true.
I’m at the work “20” getting ready to start. But it’s gonna be short. Leaving after four hours. Just getting burned out.

Good luck in your search Mat. You’re fortunate to get the agreed value for the old car, but now comes the decision making process. I’m like you, I’d kind of like to get an old Mustang or a 1st gen Camaro, but it seems like rusty hulks are pulling in 10G’s. I’ve even thought about a Factory Five build as well.

Have a good one everyone!

Matt, fugget about the 60's cars. So many improvements in aerodynamics, suspension, mpg. Do you really need a modded car? Most performance vehicles in their stock configuration have more than enough power to get you in trouble. An 80's 5.0 Mustang could be fun and reasonably priced due to there being a couple of million of them. lol. Didn't you recently buy a T/A?

....C5 Z06 would fit the bill....find one wid a few miles on it and that would make you smile.... what Tommy said.... no comparison to newer cars... C4 to C5 is a big step up....but if you fine a good C5 with an A&A kit on it.... consider it unless its been beat to death....

got back from the Star City with the 56 and the Tahoe loaded up...got my work cut out for me now..... at around 76 to 77 mph and some wind blowing and coming back with car loaded down it made 14 mpg....... might have made over 15 if I had slowed down and behaved......

I agree about the advancements in technology. And the step from a C4 to a C5 is a huge improvement as well.

But once you've had a modified car it's difficult to go back to a stock car. The TA is quick but the Corvette was quicker.

A Z06 would be an option but I want a convertible. So either H/C/I or blower car would fit the bill.
