… I'm beginning to think this is akin to what the Navy used to call the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). Today, I drove the 2012 about sixty miles to get its magnetic ride control suspension upgraded. The programming for this upgrade was done by Jim Mero—who was the Corvette Ride and Handling Vehicle Dynamics Engineer. Details are here:

https://jimmero.com/

It took Brian at Apex Auto less than an hour to do the upgrade—he said it was much easier than the Z06s and ZR1s because there's not as much crammed into the area where the controller sits.

Driving home, the car felt notably tighter, responding to bumps in a more controlled manner. I'm pleased.

Is it software only or do any parts require changing?

They swap the relevant module (which requires removing the passenger-side front fender. As far as I know, the magnetic ride controller has always been its own separate component.

We drove the newly upgraded Louis on our local torture test road yesterday—you still hear all the bumps, but you don't feel them nearly as much. Both Ivelis and I are very pleased.

I looked at the claims on Jim's website and told Ivelis if half of them were true, it would be worth the trouble.
