SUNNY, CALM, AND 60 DEGREES IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, WILL BE IN THE 80'S LATER, ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER WIZARDS. THE CHEROKEES ARE QUITE CONTENT WITH OCTOBER SO FAR.

LA MEXICANA BROUGHT US A SACK OF HOME MADE TAMALES, TASTY AS FAR AS TAMALES GO, BUT I'M NOT A TAMALE FAN. THEY WILL BE BETTER COVERED WITH CHILI, I BET.

TODAY I'LL PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN PLACE THAT THE KIDS MOVED.

#1 SON-IN-LAW HAS BOUGHT A JERSEY COW, HOPING TO FEED AN ORPHAN CALF. WE'LL SEE HOW THAT WORKS OUT :-)

NOW I'LL HURRAH DAUGHTER ABOUT MILKING HER AND PUTTING THE GRANDDAUGHTERS TO CHURNING BUTTER. WHEN I WAS A KID EVERY FARM FAMILY HAD A JERSEY MILK COW. THEY HAVE VERY RICH MILK, VERY HIGH BUTTERFAT.

I REMEMBER MY AUNT MARGARETE'S BISCUITS SOAKED IN HOME-CHURNED BUTTER AND SMOTHERED IN SORGHUM MOLASSES. YUMM!

quiet morning so far... the wife is watching the French Open (tennis) and we are getting ready to run some errands.

It's been pleasently cool the last few days, but the heat returns tomorrow.

Summer normally ends at the end of October. I can't wait!!!

Hey guys... MIA yesterday. Got up early and went out to the golf course to help with the local cross country meet. GS #3 ran a PB (personal best’, almost 3 minutes faster than the first meet of the year. After the meet was over we came home and finished loading the pickup and headed east. Stopped to see Rosies dad..he looked really good (he’s 91). Then once we got here stopped at #3s house to see them for a bit and ate supper with them. Then came over to #1s house to see them...we hadn’t seen them since late January. SIL had some projects for me so started on them today. Had to stop for a while to have youngest grand (a son) 9th birthday party. After all left I got started back on the project. Take out some cabinets I installed 10 years ago so I can change the counter tops out. Just finished spraying finish on the new tops. Tomorrow I will install those.
