Remember when we were young we discounted the elderly as being old fashioned? How does it feel to be old fashioned?

Just thinking, Marcus. Your spouse and mine must be around the same age. Seeing what I go through, I feel for ya bro. lol There's a price to pay for marrying the younger ones.

I may have posted this before. But it seems as if you have a portion of life where you’re referred to as, “kid, tiger, sport, junior,” you get the idea.
But then it stops.
For about ten minutes.
Suddenly you’re, “ old-fart, old man, etc...”
About three years ago I was walking across the shop at work when a young black man approached me and began to have difficulty asking me something. As I waited the seconds for him to spit it out, he said, “Pardon me um, uhh, ....old school. Can you tell me where...”
It was very obvious he was being as respectful as he’d been taught, but he just didn’t have the vocabulary to address me in the more conventional terms. I answered his questions and we went on our ways.
I’ll probably remember being addressed as, “old school,” for the rest of my life.🙂

In reading this, maybe I should change my handle to,”Old Skool!”

Good Afternoon CGs!

Washed the car yesterday which challenged the rain gods. They responded in appropriate fashion.

A little nicer today, sunny but cool.

Tommy, I wish someone brought me lobster tails.

Marcus, how is the new job?

Bob, obviously he didn't know to address you as "Mister" Old School

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon everyone. Busy at work today, stressed a bit from work (competitor bashing us issues), and of course, more nursing home issues as of last night. Staff wont' return a call now - off to the Ombudsman again. I'm sure local staff hates me but I will do what I can to make sure they take care of her and not be mean and ugly to her.
headed home straight after work to sit in the chair on the back porch and nothing else. Maybe a ribeye on the grill later.
Regarding age - people are more discretionary with us women. I have still recently been referred to ask "kid" and "youngun" although I'm 52. I feel like I'm 82.
I've been called a lot of things, thus far "old" hasn't been one - except by those constant AARP invites

Hey folks, Busy day again....How many aren't for me? Buddy I've been helping with siding called to ask me to help him remove and install new front door. By noon we had it mostly done. A return after lunch finished up the last details.

It was a chilly start, but by noon the sweatshirt came off and was really nice all afternoon, 62 for the high. tomorrow is supposed to be nearly 90...by Sunday morning, 19 for a low and Monday 28 for a high.

Congrats, Mike living out of the fifth wheel had tobe getting a bit old. Letty, don't concern yourself with what the people are thinking/saying, you are protecting your cousins' best interest. Bob,Tommy, I've been addressed as "old guy and old fashioned"...I can't deny the description and the alternative is not too attractive to me...although if my time comes, I'm ready.

I trust everyone had a good day.

Wow...nice pad Cap..... very cool....congrats...

The new job....finding out they really want me to do work.... damn.... they got me my work truck today...some monster Ford Super Duty 4 x 4 turbo diesel 4 door pick up.... it's huge...I spent 2 hours cleaning it up....its a 17 with 77K on it... I hated it at first but found out the tires had 75 lbs of air in them....took them down to 50 and it got a lot better.... it does get up and go.... it has to weigh 8,000 lbs.....

and no heated seats.....WTF.....I mean really....

Tomorrow we have meetings all day and Friday I go to my location in David City and move into my new sumptuous office that is like a broom closet I'm thinking....

had all this indoctrination to go thru...all these films on sexual harassment and you can't be mean to anybody....I don't think you can even smack someone around anymore if they need it...... I don't get all this new PC stuff....

so that is how its going so far.... thought you should know...

Congrats Mr and Mrs Capt.Mike. Happy for you both.

Ya, that not being able to smack someone around a little bit has gotten out of hand.

Wash machine took is on it's last leg. It's leaving water on the floor. Not from the hoses. Nothing a good $750 can't resolve. Could go used but no. The last two have only lasted around 7 years each. We do use it almost daily though with the work shirts.

Hey U-man, this helps me understand what I’m going thru with all the PC junk...

The worst part of the P.C. Crap is the stress it causes. My definition of stress;
The feeling of frustration and anger you experience when you’re not allowed to choke the living chit out of some A-hole that desperately needs it.
