CLEAR AND COLD IN THE NATIONS, 35 ON THE FRONT PORCH. I'M ALL COFFEED-UP AND READY TO GO, JUST DON'T KNOW WHERE. THEY SAY IT WILL HIT 64 TODAY, THE CHEROKEES ARE ALL FOR THAT.

ONE LAST CHRISTMAS DELIVERY TO MAKE AND I'LL BE DONE WITH THAT.

LOOKS LIKE WE WILL GO TO OKMULGEE CHRISTMAS DAY, A BREAK FROM THE TRADITIONAL PATTERN OF CHRISTMAS EVE AT OKMULGEE AND CHRISTMAS DAY AT FAYETTEVILLE. DAUGHTER-IN-LAW HAS GONE TOTALLY PARANOID OVER THE KUNG FLU, SO THERE WILL BE NO TRIP EAST THIS YEAR.

STILL NO CHRISTMAS FEELING ON MY PART---I'M JUST GOING THRU THE MOTIONS.

Good Morning CGs!

Took the Vette to the gas station yesterday to fill up before I put it away. Stopped at a new hand wash carwash on the way home so I didn't have to do it. $10 for an exterior wash and dry which I didn't think was bad. They had three guys work on the car for 15 minutes. It looked fantastic. Honestly I couldn't figure out how they make any money at that price for how much work they did. Wife saw it and said she was taking hers there next time.

Been enjoying my quarantine with the kids. Lots of family time. Wife is starting to get her taste back slowly. So far we all seem to be doing ok.

Hope everyone has a great day!

About 10:30 I had a phone call from a guy basically saying he was given my number by a mutual friend and asking if I could come help him and his wife, with a computer issue. I was able to figure out what the problem was, and worked for an hour and a quarter, but no luck getting it fixed. We decided it might be better to get a different printer than to continue fighting that one. And I headed to the door. He asked how much he owed me, I told you I'd make it worth your time". I told him my policy was, If I don't fix, or at least make it better, you don't owe me anything and headed to the door. he stepped in front of me and insisted that he pay me for my time....OK, hw about $20, Does that sound fair? "No", he says but here...reaching in his bilfold and hands me a bill...I look at it and he's given me a C note...."Oh, wait, this is way too much". No, you took away time from what you were doing to come and help us and you did troubleshoot and figure out what the problem was, and tried for over an hour to fix it. It's not your fault the printer was beyond your ability to fix it. Besides, we may need to call you and ask for help again. You earned that." I thanked him, but still felt it was too much. New people in town, I wanted to make them feel welcome.

For my few remaining private clients, the going rate is $100/hour, so that sounds about right. Many charge more.

You're a good guy—but that doesn't mean your time doesn't have value.

DELIVERY MADE AND A GIFT FOR #1 GRANDSON BOUGHT. PATIOS BLOWN OFF. A NAP MAY NOW BE IN ORDER.

A TANGENTIAL COMMENT ON TEE'S PAY:
I HAVE FOUND IT VERY POOR TACTICS TO PAY MORE THAN ASKED. AT BEST THE PRICE GOES UP, AT WORST I CREATED A GRASPING MONSTER THAT WAY ONE TIME---

IT'S A GOLDILOCKS DAY OUTSIDE, JUST RIGHT :-)

Hey guys.been a busy morning. I finished up two of the countertops and the one for the island is left. I've got GSs #2 and 3 helping me out. We will take the two out this afternoon and mark and cut the hole for the sink for them.

Better get back to it.

All time does have value. They appreciated your time, few do that anymore. I encounter people daily that think folks should work for free. We’re taking one to court over it. They were grateful to you and wanted to express it. Maybe give them a deal the next go around.
Gris, head to the beach and that’ll fix your Christmas spirit. Helped mine a ton. I think we may do this every year. We don’t have kids and it saves a bunch of hassle. Money spent is about the same. Best Christmas ever.
Matt glad you and the famiky are on the mend.
No snow here so I built a sandman. Works for me.

I did. But just the tip, just to see how it felt.

I've had the benefit of working in crappy service jobs so I understand the importance of tipping the workers. I'm luckily in a position now in my life that a few extra dollars doesn't affect me but it can make a big difference to the young person helping me out.

I agree. I threw the guy keeping the bathroom clean at the casino 5 bucks. I figure he earned it.

Got the two countertops installed...they both fit without having to modify anything. Got the sink hole cut out and it fit the first try...man I should go buy a lottery ticket.

Came home and finished the top for the island. I will take it out tomorrow to install it. That will finish up my year for work.

Planning a trip to KC next week to see the kids there.
