HI EVERYBODY---

How did Greenland get its name?
It actually got its name from Erik The Red, an Icelandic murderer who was exiled to the island. He called it “Greenland” in hopes that the name would attract settlers.

THE REASON ERIC WAS IN ICELAND WAS BECAUSE HE KILLED A MAN IN NORWAY.
GOTTA WATCH THESE REDHEADS :-)

SO MUCH FOR TODAY'S HISTORY LESSON.

OVERCAST AND 16 DEGREES IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, ANOTHER TWO INCHES OF THE NASTY WHITE STUFF FROM LAST NIGHT. THAT MAKES FOUR TO FIVE INCHES AM GRISHEIM. THE CHEROKEES HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP!

ON THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE PARKLAND SHOOTING BIDEN CALLS FOR MORE ANTI-GUN LAWS. THE SHOOTER, MEANWHILE IS ALIVE AND WELL, HOUSED, FED, AND LAWYERED AT TAX PAYER EXPENSE.

AND THEN THERE IS:
H.R. 127, would create a mandatory registry that lists the names of gun owners, the number of firearms they possess and where they keep the guns.
MUST HAVE A DEFENSELESS PEASANTRY!

ODE TO FEBRUARY:

SNOWKLAHOMA! WHERE THE WIND COMES SWEEPING DOWN THE PLAINS,

AND THE SNOW AND SLEET AROUND OUR FEET COME RIGHT BEHIND THE FREEZING RAIN.

SNOWKLAHOMA, EVERY NIGHT MY HONEY LAMB AND I,

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WHILE WE HOPE SOME JERK DOESN’T SMASH OUR CAR JUST PASSING BY.

WE KNOW WE BELONG TO THE LAND AND WE COULD SURE USE SOME MORE SALT AND SAND,

AND WHEN WE SAY YIP! WE SLIDE THE OTHER WAY, YIKE!
WE’RE ONLY SAYING WE’RE DOING FINE SNOWKLAHOMA, SNOWKLAHOMA OK!

Yep, four years of decent winters and here come Biden and Hell freezes over. Seems only fair since they blamed Trump for hurricanes.
Oh well, more snow on the way here, second storm of it today and third later on into Thursday. We are due a total of 8-14 on top of what we already have. This isn't normal for us. And, to top it all off the power companies here started rolling blackouts. Trying to make residents feel bad claiming we aren't doing our part yet energy hogging factories were running normal. Public outcry led to the gas and electric companies shutting them down. One steel place here willingly shut down the day before for that very reason, they tried to do their part, the rest of them had to be forced to. Plus one was issuing "points" to employees who could not make it to work for which I think they need a couple of million dollar fines and that shit would stop. People can't get out in the stuff here, our road departments do not have equipment like northern states to deal with this. It's simply not in the budget for something we might get every few years. Our cold temps haven't been this low since '80.Later claims from other outlets was that it was power sharing due to a large Arkansas supplier going down and to help Texas. Which, raises the question, if the "grid" is all connected as they say then why does City Water and Light have cheap light bills and my Craighead Electric is four times that if it's all coming from the same place.
Anyway it was only out an hour and id' rather have that than be out for days. But, that kinda stuff isn't good for electronics and appliances that sometimes don't come back on. Plus, with these temps we risk our pool pumps and lines freezing and that would be thousands also. Lives matter more but still would have been nice had they give people a warning and not just shut people off late at night. That lack of notice and businesses and factories being allowed to run when people on oxygen, etc had to do without is what pissed everyone off. Try to stay warm everybody, I'll be working from home today if there's any to do at all.

WOW! We made it all the way up to 27 today...freaking heatwave. I went down to the carwash and sprayed a bunch of crap off the pickup. felt warm but by the time I was done, my hands were frosty.

We are headed to KC for the weekend tomorrow. Safe travels Marc.

RIP Rush.
