IT'S A SUNNY 78DEGREES WITH 78% HUMIDITY, ANOTHER DAY IN THE SAUNA FOR THE CHEROKEES. IT'S SUPPOSED TO RAIN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW.

HAD A WELCOME BIT OF SERENDIPITY YESTERDAY; MAN WHO IS TO DO THE WEED-EATING CAME BY DRAGGING A TRACTOR WITH BOXBLADE BEHIND HIS TRUCK. GOT THE BADLY ERODED DRIVE DRESSED UP :-)

DINNER AT OKMULGEE WAS FUN, GREAT GRANDSON IS A BIG, FAT, GRINNING BABY. QUITE CONTENTED, NO FUSSING, BUT OF COURSE HE DID NOT LACK FOR ATTENTION WITH TWO TEENAGE AUNTS, GRANDMA, GRANDPA, AND THE GREATS PASSING HIM AROUND. #1 GRANDSON DID RIBS. THERE WAS POTATO SALAD, BAKED BEANS, AND DEVILED EGGS WITH BANANA PUDDING FOR DESERT. #1 SIL AND I GOT T-SHIRTS, #1 GRANDSON GOT A BABY BOOK ???

BOB, KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL REUNIONS. AT MY 50TH I FOUND EVERYBODY MUCH MORE LIKABLE THAN I REMEMBERED THEM BEING WAY BACK THEN.
I WONDERED IF IT WAS THEM OR ME :-)

Hey guys, up at normal time, but haven't done anything but sit and mess with the computer. Oh, Rosie made breakfast.

Not much on tap for today.

Gris, glad to hear that you had a good time with the dinner.

Good morning, all.

The heat and humidity have made it to the east coast. I figure we were due—it had been way too nice.

On Friday night, one of my best friends hit a deer in his Honda Fit near Saratoga, NY. As near as we can tell, another car hit the deer first, and then my friend hit the still considerable remnants. He's okay, the Fit less so. The whole front clip is mangled, but the hood looks okay. The car overheated right after the crash, so I'm assuming the tiny radiator is toast. We'll find out more on Monday.

I haven't (yet) had the heart to tell him that he's now an official upstate New Yorker …

Woke up early and headed to MIL and Fil's for a father's day brunch. All went well. BIL dis all the cooking. Good eats. Relaxing and taking the day off ..... I think. Did some light shopping and bought a couple of half gallons of ice cream. I have a strong craving for ice cream at this time of year.
