Sorry I’ve been so scarce lately, we’ve been working 10 hours daily and weekends as well. I’m off tonight as there’s an inventory being conducted so they cancelled everyone’s Sunday.
Big news here is that corporate has decided to shut down the plant I work at. They project it’ll take two years, but with the current things going on, probably more like a year or a bit more. My target for retirement was next August anyway so it’s not going to be too bad for my purposes. I’ll just make the money while I can and be done.
The funny thing is that a week ago new contract negotiations started and our union business manager put out a flyer by the timeclocks clearing up the rumors going around. The very first item stated, “The plant is not closing.”

OOOPS!😁

I’m pretty sure the contract talks won’t bear much fruit. But we’re hoping that there’s financial incentives made to keep people from jumping off too soon. Time will tell, I guess.

Have a great Sunday folks!

I'm on a roll. 2 nice payouts last night. 2 Major jackpots about 10 miutes apart. No, I'm not always this lucky but I'll take whatever I can get. That's $1400 and $817

Good Afternoon CGs!

Back has been bugging me for a bit. Need to find a new bone cruncher. Haven't been in at least 2-3 years now. Last one insulted my wife and is lucky he didn't need a real doctor after that. Just sayin'.

Good luck with the job and contract negotiations, Bob.

Marcus, if I had your money I'd burn mine. Then again we can't all go on 3 cruises a year and have two Corvettes like some guys, right?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

One time I found $10 in the pocket of my jacket. So I'd consider that a major jackpot in my book.

What's that cover - a headlight bulb and wipers for a porch-a?

Hey guys, chilly start, but warmed up into the lower 60s. Well, it sounds like your timing is right on Bob. I hope you guys get a decent deal in the negotiations.

The "R" word....people ask all the time, "I thought you retired?", all I can say is, I am drawing my pension from teaching, but I'm still working. Well, is it 'work' if you are doing something you love to do? If I didn't have something to keep me busy, I'd go crazy. Visiting grands is great, but I still need to have something to keep my mind and hands busy.

Speaking of bisiting grands, we are headed to KC to stay with #3s kids while they go to a concert in FLA, I think, to celebrate #3s 40th birthday (last week). AND while we are there, I have a decent project to help me pass the time....Run electrical in the shed I built back in June.

Well, Tommys' luck is, almost, making me want to hit the Casino while we are in KC.... but, my luck isn't like Tommys', mine is more like Matts. Finding $10 in a pocket I forgot about....

That all took place later in my life when we became empty nesters. At the rate your kids are growing you'll be an empty nester too before you know it. I was where you are now only you are probably doing better than I was. Start planning your cruises now. lol

That’s almost a direct quote of what I was thinking when I read his post!😁

My dad used to refer to the R word as Graduated. So do I, but most people don’t know what I’m talking about. Speaking of some guys, I found out today my 74yo brother took his wife’s Cadilliac in for an oil change and brought home a ‘19 Sierra Extendo-Cab. He still drives 50 miles each way to work and says he has no plans to stop. I can’t say I blame him. We’ve both known too many guys that retired and went home that night and died. No joke. I think it’s the tool trade that does it. There was one guy drove to work, put it in Park, and croaked before he got the key out. When he was found that day the engine was running but he wasn’t.

Have a good week this week!
