Morning guys... Feels like fall here too, Gris. Similar temps, headed to the mid 80s.

I need to get going. Back over to the place where we installed cabinets Sunday to finish that job up.

Good morning. Rainy day.

Tommy..... have you considered putting in tile drains on your acreage? tons of acres of farm ground that would be un farmable without the those. Send that water over to the neighbors you don't like....

The entire area is like a bowl. Everglades is to the west and the drainage canals can back up. Nowhere for the water to go except to let the drainage canals do their job. The only option would be to raise the entire property. Not worth the expense for the rare flooding issue. 4 or 5 times the water has risen to the high point but my house stays dry. Garage and two back sheds get 4-6 inches of water but it drains after a day or two. Just a PITA.

Part of the problem is all the new construction is elevated leaving all the poor bastards that have lived here in the older homes to not only deal with their excess water but we have the runoff from the elevated properties. Vulcan progress. Florida is pretty flat. Even in my other house the streets would flood from time to time with a foot of water. LOL. Vegas can't even handle 3" of rain. We can get that in an hour sometimes. LOL I'm prepared for it since I experienced some loss the first time it happened to me here. Since then I know to have everything lifted you wish to protect. It's a learn as you go type situation. My sisters and their families plus a few of my friends live over in the Tampa/St. Pete area. We opened our doors to the family if they wanted to evacuate for a few days. We could sleep 14 to 16 people here if we had to. Done it before a long time ago. It's like a big camping trip.

Good afternoon - another beautiful day here, I love this weather, except it makes the pool too cool to get into. I posted Sunday but can't find where I left off. Seems when I do that from my phone it's missing usually. Hope everybody had a good weekend and Tommy keep safe in your area. I have a couple Tampa area friends that are pretty worried. Made some more progress on the car, got stripes on, halo decals on, paint protection film on headlights and foglights, and got the black plastic trim all refreshed except for the wiper cowl area. This weekend I'll try to get the inside cleaned up some, I have an appointment for new tint next Thursday. Might take it to the Corvette meeting next Tuesday if weather holds out. Still need to get calipers cleaned and relettered and get wheels off and clean those and maybe paint the inside of the rim. I'd like to have new wheels, for the cost of any cosmetic repair on these I can get another set used, but that's another day.
