Good Morning CGs!

Wifey is still feeling under the weather. Hopefully better soon.

Speaking of weather there's supposed to be a nasty storm front this week that should affect us Midwestern states. Oh joy.

Sign on the gas station door by the house - now hiring, $18.50/hr, $1.00 shift bonus, weekly pay bonus, and free lunch when you work. And still can't find anyone. Sheesh.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sis and BIL and a great nephew came in for a surprise visit this weekend. BIL helped me install a ceiling fan in th guest room. One of his priorities. The old one lost it's oomf. Put a tv antenna out in the back office/bedroom/shed.gets a bunch of local channels so that's a plus. This morning we put in a new titanium anode rod in the water heater with the help of a friend's boyfriend. That should take care of any stinky water from the water heater. Quick job and he had the sockets I needed. Sue has foot surgery scheduled for January 6th so that will kick off the new year deductible round. Planty to do. Chritmas party day closing in fast and I'm way behind. Some things just won't get done. Never bored.

Good morning,
Matt, hope the wife feels better soon. There's hiring signs all over here too, allegedly with good pay, but those who are job seeking claim they're bogus. Many here apply then complain they don't get a call back etc. Wondering if people are putting up signs just to cover themselves for being short handed or lax on service.
Back at the office, slow start. A couple won't answer emails then I'll bet will complain when I'm gone next week. Their problem, I tried. One has free co-op money too and he still won't get back like he should.
We worked at home all weekend, we deep cleaned the back patio, got that plastic up before but needed some adjustments and it works nice, got all the leaves from back yard and whole rest of house bagged up plus some of the neighbords, cleaned inside house, laundry, you name it. I've gathered up 99% of the dog's stuff to give to another pet mom. I had no idea I'd bought that much crap for this dog. Geez, she sure was bougie.
Reviews of steroid pack my "natural" doctor gave me: first time in four years my hip, sciatic nerve, leg didn't hurt, even when I slept. I felt like I was supposed to feel like and it changed my life this past week. I wonder if I can take that crap now on? I don't think I sat still all week/weekend.
Pics of the back patio idea. No way we can do $20 grand to box that in like I was quoted. And I think the quote was a bit much for no more than I wanted. I just need framework with screens, the rest I can do myself. Actually all of it we can do , Arron is just too busy to do it, he works enough. I wanted framework for screens that slide, (shoji style) and then I can add plastic in winter - pretty simple. This setup I used clear heavy weight tarps, plus a flexible ceiling mount curtain track. And I"m out less than $400 I"ll add skeeter nets in spring and take plastic down. we can tell a huge difference. temps yesterday were 49 but it was 70 back there. We also dug out a little heater we weren't using so that will help too.

very workable VB.... I am getting ready for the 50 below wind chills coming up on Thursday.... high of -7.... will not be out cooking on the deck.... wondering how I'm going to keep the greenhouse at 50 degrees..... went and got a small electric heater to keep some air circulating in the sink area.... going to be some expensive lettuce with the heat we are providing..... may end up with propane heat down the road..... this winter is a trail run....

never give up Guru's....

Stick a halogen shop light on a stand out there. That's all I needed here last year and we had single digits for a bit

hey guys, left KC early this morning. Stopped in Lawrence to look at a cabinet job (son of a gentleman here in town). A stop for fuel and bathroom, another stop to see Rosie's dad then one last stop to grab a quick taco. Glad to be home.

When we left it was raining lightly, after the stop in Lawrence it had turned to sleet, then before we got to Topeka it was snowing pretty good. West of Topeka, it turned back to rain and then stopped completely. By the time we got back in Western Kansas it was sunny and mid 40s. Tomorrow the temps are supposed to be much colder and then Thursday, bitterly cold with single digit highs and wind chills in the negative 20s. Fun, fun, fun.
