Ok, I'm mulling over the idea of buying the 17x9.5 fronts and 17x11 rears from TOMZ Wheels sometime this spring. Now I'm looking at tire options.

1. I want tire that I can drive in the rain if need be.

2. I'd like to spend less than $200 a tire.

3. Road noise is not a factor, I probably couldn't hear it over my exhuast anyhow.

4. Tread wear is only a minimal factor.

What do the Guru's recomend?

Sumitomos! I'm on my 2nd set now...the first lasted about 4 years. I bought the first set from Tirerack but this time found someone who could beat their prices. Tires-easy.com for $425 shipped to my door. I checked around and no one locally could get within $100 of the shipped price.

Thanks guys!

Yeah the Sumitomo's really seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Tires-easy.com? I'll have to check into that. I already check the tire rack pricing.

Thanks again!

this is why we need to get tirerack.com as a link again...

I have had great success with Kumho, too.

My current tire is a Toyo, the worlds greatest tire... cause they were FREE! I won them from Speed TV back in 2005.
