I will post up some pics of it soon. I got me a Kenwood deck with a USB connector on it. Really cool thing cause now I can just run in the house, put some music on the card and run back out and I am good to go!

Well the fact of the matter is, I had a DVD player with fold out screen in there but I traded it for a 3" exhaust system. So for the last 8 months I have had no radio. Finally locked on this one

Sweet! I wonder how Kenwood is these days... back in the late 80s, early 90s, they were a real leader.

And Al - when are you gonna let me hear your system???

I got to get to your house so you can hear it, I don't bring the C5 out much these days, I drive the C4 everyday, I only bring the C5 out when I'm going to car shows or on the weekend. I'll work it out.

Pretty good, I just orderd some jamma finger boards and now I have to solder them to the wires so I can plug my boards to that 4 in 1 board. Still no TV yet. I am not too sure where I can find a decently used 32 inch.

Neat! I really want to upgrade the stereo in my '93. There is an Alpine touch screen that would look fabulous in there!

I've got to say that the Blose system in my Vette with the iPod running through the cassette sounds pretty decent, though. I can't imagine how much better a nice system with all new tek-mologie would sound!

As a bass player, I do love to crank the bass! :shaking:

I like this deck but it just dont have any bass running through the speakers. I know that it has to deal with the built in EQs and stuff and the fact I have no subs BUT I think there should be something! The deck puts out good sounds but it is only lacking in the bass department. I think I need to totally gut the speaker system and redo it with componets, subs, mids, amps...you know the whole 9 yards

Yeah, you gots ta have da BASS! But maybe two nice speakers in the back would do it. What goes back there, 6X9s? That might be alright. I have those big speakers by my footwells in my car. They look about like a 6X9 too. Four of those and maybe some little tweeters in the A pillars might just do it for me.

It's been a LONG time since I had a car that was worth putting a nice stereo into, so I am way behind the curve right now.

If I do a system in my car, I'm not sure if I will do a sub or not. I really don't want to lose any of my precious cabin space. I'll have to see about something that would fit into the little compartment behind the passenger seat.

I don't know how to wire one of those darn things up, and I shudder at the thought of someone else taking apart my whole interior to install an audio system.

Its really not that hard. I have done several systems in the past. The hardest part is picking an amp/speaker combo that actually sounds good in the enclosure your using in side the car. See, it might sound good in the store but it might also sound like crap in your car. If I do a system it wont be for a long time. I might just buy me a bass tube for temporary bass.

Make sure one of your rear speakers is not out of phase.Check it with a 9V battery+ to +,- to -.The speaker should kick out if it is in phase.Accedently easyly done.

I thought that may be a problem, good solution though. I forgot that you could test them like that. Its been about 5 years since I messed around with any kind of car audio gear. Thanks!

Yeah, its a pretty good unit. Not the best I ever owned but not bad. It does have some really cool features though.
