Welcome to the site! The way I post them is not using the "picture" link.

Type in "img" inside of closed square brackets before the web address for the picture, and at the end (w/o spaces) type in closed brackets "/img". Unfortunately I can't show you because if you do that it will think it is an image and try to post it as opposed to showing the text.

Good luck.

Hey Dean, what did you ever figure out about the side pipes and the poor finish? I hope your wife doesn't feel bad about the whole thing...she certainly did a nice thing getting them for you.

With times being what they are, I'm going to spray the primaries black and try leaving the pipes and collectors stainless. At least for this season, I will eventually get them coated.

I think the black will actually look kind of cool. Not only will it hide the defect of the pipes but it'll make a unique yet subtle contrast to the fantastic paint color.

yellow and black does go together well. I don't think it would be a bad thing, at all.

When I went shopping for my C4, I had a short list of colors, in no order:

Blackrose with tan or grey
Polo Green with tan (what I got)
Yellow with black
Red with tan

I never found one Blackrose... the yellow ones I found were all A4, I wanted an M6.

that's where the polo green came from!

Welcome Aktbird!

Love the yellow! I just about painted mine Velocity Yellow, but my wife wanted Steel Cities Gray, so we compromised on Torch Red.

Yes... Welcome

The C3 section is getting some real sweet cars among its ranks.

Maybe I need to trade up to a C3.
Something artistic about the C3 curves, especially with chrome side pipes.

Just awesome

I don' see why you should have to trade anything, keep the C4 and find a good deal on a C3.

Good Point!! I bought my C4 in 2001 I think. I was out shopping for a C3, but got sidetracked into a nice C4 which in 2004 was still pretty young. I love my 94, but every time I get around all the nice C3s in my Corvette Club I get all drooly and stuff.

I know of a guy with a Corvette restoration and body shop in Illinois that has a great shape '75 for $5K. It's plain Jane but good under, inside, outside, and under the hood. Great start for a project at a good price.

To be clear, I'm not selling or making any commission...I just know of the seller so I know of the car.

OOhhh don't you tempt me!!

I'm already in the doghouse. After I finished some mods to my Vette last fall, I fell into a great little sailboat at the right price. Another project right now might sink the boat!! literally!

Welcome aboard, we could use more late model Vettes. I like your C3, it looks like you enjoy it... As previously suggested, I think your pipes would look good black.

If I ever get around to coating our headers, they will be jet hot coated black.

Thanks for the kind words. If I end up liking the pipes black, I may see about getting a black coating. Does anybody have a picture of black coated pipes?

I was surprised at how few images I found online. You can see in this horribly small image, that this C3 has black side pipes and it doesn't look bad at all. The purple is awful and I personally love the pop of chrome...but I think in your case the easiest and cheapest way might be to go black with them.

Welcome Aboard. I really like the yellow.

If you haven't decided what black you're going to use, you may want to take a look at Duplicolor High Temp Ceramic black. It's rated at 500 degrees. It's a satin finish. I used it on my chambered pipes that bolt up to the cats a couple of years ago, still looks good.

The same thing happened to me. I wanted yellow, looked at about 30 cars but, the 2 yellow ones were A4's. I had to settle foor my second choice - BlackRose with Tan

Another Duplicolor product that I've been wanting to try is their "Auto Art". It's supposed to wash off with soap and water. I wanted to play with some hood stripes.
It would be one way to see black pipes in the flesh.
I can't vouch for how well it works yet.
