Hi Guru's...The rear pinion seal was leaking this winter and I have yet to replace it(Lazy)..But I did take it around the block for a shake down cruise and heard a whineing noise coming from the rear...Also heard a thumping like noise(off and On,Not real Loud) coming from back there also...I guess it's time to replace the seal and refill Huh?? Although the leak did'nt seem that bad..The rear has been rebuilt and should have had the proper amount of fluid(although I did not install it)..What do you guy's think

3.73 in what? D44 or D36?
It also depends on the source of the gears... some are prone to whining. It also makes me wonder if the shop set the gears right in the first place. The on/off thumping noise makes me think LSD (diff, not narcotic). |

It shouldn't be making any noise other than maybe a gear whine, low fluid or otherwise.

It must be just the gears..Fluid is fine..Ujionts look new..Prolly not used to the gears yet..Thanks for your thoughts..I Freaked for a moment..Don't need anything else to go wrong
