I have a stock crossfire intake manifold I will be porting, where are the water jackets running? Are they on the lower part of the runners? My plan is to open up the port to match the gasket and to remove as much material on the inside of the runners. I will also shorten the runners from the inside and cut the top of the runners open about 1/2 inch from the start of the runner from the inside. I will remove the EGR hump as well. After removing the EGR hump, is there any welding needed? I will also remove the swirl viens to aid in air flow. Any other suggestions to achieve maximum power out of this stock intake manifold?

I think you should just take it down a notch, this thread is about porting an intake. If you have experience in porting a crossfire intake you are welcome to share. It would be most helpful to stay on topic, you could always start a new topic if you wish.

WOW!!!!, that is some serious info. In the picture the runners look shorter on one side, it just might be me.
Would there be a benefit to cut the tops of the ports back a bit, kind of taper them so the fuel can get in easier? The EGR, once removed did you notice anything with milege or codes or any problems? Why did you sand blast it? To ruff it up a bit or just to clean it? Thanks alot best write up I have ever seen. |

The moderators of the other forum can deal with it as they wish. Let's do our best not to play those games over here.
I actually do not visit other sites. Corvette-Guru is not a garbage dump for other forums. |
