TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Tampa police say Billy Mays, the television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.

I liked his infomercials. Gonna miss him, Vince??? Hmmmm...?

Holy crap. At first I thought this was a joke because it was an internet rumor a few months ago. But it's true. Sad to hear.

Is this starting another round of three celebs?

Damn.... I don't ever remember a period where so many well known folks have died in such a short period of time.

So sad...

RIP Billy.

That being said, the man was a lier and would say anything to sell something, kinda like a used car salesman.

I have used some of the products that he hawked... and the Oxyclean stuff actually worked.

Other ads are loaded serious embellishments, no questions asked.

Personally, I love how they show the alternative product causing so much confusion, chaos and mess!!!

The older wax commercial where they lit the car hood on fire and the paint was bubbling got me, of course, the wax fixed it.

Sanding on a hardwood floor, wiping some crap on it and saying the scratches are gone. Or the scratches on a car, etc.

oh, yea, I know exactly what you are talking about.

The biggest difference between this guy and the likes of Ron Popiel is that Ron's stuff actually worked!

My personal favourite is the Awesome Auger... They show that thing tearing through the softest soil EVAR!

apparently he was, Playboy just did a huge question and answer session with him in this past issue, talking about his new show of his own, his own business of teaching others the trade, etc.
