CSS996 WTF does your screen name mean?

Just curious.

Mine is my initials, and the 996 is the cubic centimeters displacement of my favorite motorcycle. The Ducati 996.

I use the same screen name and avatar on several forums. CF, Planetisuzoo, Lincoln vs Cadillac, sportbikes.com and maybe some others.

Some of yours are self explanitory... Or are they???

But others have me puzzled. Care to share?

In 1981, BMW released what is (IMHO) the best bike they could ever make - the R80G/S (I owned a 1984 and a 1985). Well, they added ABS to my beloved beast (by then I had a 1995 R1100G/S) and named it the GSA (not to be confused with the GSAdv). Seeing as I'll always have a G/S in my stable....

BMWGSA (on some other boards, it's just BMWGS)

Bastet is an ancient Egyptian cat goddess. So the 'b' should really be capitalized in my screen name.

44 is my fave number.

My screen name is that I'm just a nice 90 year old

points back from him; and no I still don't believe you give your wife a list........nor does anyone on this forum for that matter :laughing2:

Skirlin, I play the great highland bagpipes. When you play in a rock band your jammin, I coined the the phrase skurlin from the skurl of the pipes but when I tried to use it as a screen name the first time 'skurlin' was taken so I changed it to 'skirlin' and I have used it ever since.

Mine is simple, and I have had it as a nick name ever since I bought the Durango back in '97.

At CF, I got the initials DB when people started typing that instead of my name. Now when I go to Corvette shows with my club shirt on and my screen name, I get to meet a lot of people who know me from the forums.

My car actually did belong to my dad. ( I never knew him, my parents divorced when I was very young) My stepmom found me 40 years later and told me my real father died of cancer in 92. Turned out she and half sister lived in Houston on the other side of town. We got close and found out he was a vette fan. Well he had this car and hardly drove it because he was very sick, and finally lost his battle with cancer. So my stepmom gave it to me, mint condition, 16K miles, she spent some bucks getting it back to a drivable state (it sat for 12 years) So its my DADS90.

I used to DJ - still have my decks and a huge collection of vinyl. Most of my work was for charity, which is a complete other story. Anyhow, I used to play a kids gig regularly and I didnt have a DJ name so they made one up - Xib (they pronounced it "zib").

I have no clue what it means but it stuck.. hence djxib.

When I was younger my driving style was definatly reckless as was most everything else I did in my life to say the least.

I was looking for an email address back 1997 or so (hotmail was becomming in-vouge) and during a drunken game of Gran Turismo one of my buddies came up with rklessdriver.

I'm still pretty young at 34yrs but the screen name really dosen't fit the man anymore. I drive like an old man most of the time... I still keep it because I've used it so long and change is hard.

Sorry skirlin.

To elaborate..... 'Fluff' is a track off a 70's Black Sabbath album. I used to use this track to ring-out (set EQ) on stage sound systems (not for Black Sabbath I'll add).

The association became a nickname, but it's long lost in time and not used anymore and just came to mind when I joined CG.

For those who want to know.

I loved this tune. Soft and out of character for the band at that time. For me it was a great early AM tune after all had been said the done the night before and offered a pause for reflection.

Thanks, I have removed the dunce cap now that I have been learned. Wow, Thanks Tommy for the video. Very uncharacteristic, but very relaxing.....I like it. I am a big Ozzy fan but never heard much of Sabath. Fluff seems rather obscure and unique, good screen name. Fluff it is.
