Okay, it's actually a new Fusion, the new Hybrid Fusion, but it has a really hippy, (Stupid), gauge that grows leaves the more green you drive and the leaves fade the less green you drive.

COME ON !!! Am I the only one that gets disgusted that a company is wasting money on crap like this and companies like GM have to file bankruptcy because things are so rough?

http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/fusion/trim/?trim=hybrid

"Watch the display grow leaves when you drive efficiently. Or watch them fade when you don't. More leaves = more mpg (up to 41 mpg city). This green motivator works during any of the four display modes."

That crap makes me gag. Maybe a large pair of breasts that grow larger with hard nipples when you drive hard and fast, as opposed to small and shriveled when you drive like a hippie tree hugger fantasizing about green leaves. *YUCK*

my thoughts are like this... if a few hybrids save gas, that leaves more for us to enjoy.

That's awesome.

When I step on the throttle, I see it puke smoke out the back, and birds fall out of the sky. And I don't need a fancy dashboard to get that effect.

Honda found that it's hybrid Accord didn't sell that well. The reason? It wasn't recognizable as a hybrid like a Prius. Those that would by a hybrid told pollsters that they bought a hybrid because of what it says about them.

So, Ford, with a Fusion hybrid is trying the video game approach, since the Fusion and it's hybrid twin look the same. Yep, it's meant to appeal to a different kind of person than is on this forum.

Ford might do some goofy stuff, but at least it's not government owned, and UAW operated.

Had an accident last week my 89 S-10 4x4 hit an 08 Acura suv, his fault. I now have a Ford Fucus as a loaner. It has mood lighting.. changes from blue to purple to green and pink. Mood lighting?? You should see my mood when I squeeze my 6'4" petit 270 lb. body in to this thing.

This reminds me of awhile back when I came up on a hybrid car at a stop light and I was in my C3. It had a bumper sticker on the back of it saying something about "tree hugging". I knew immediately once I got up next to them that this was going to be fun. The couple in the car looked at me and my car with total disgust. The driver had her window down so I put the Corvette in neutral and rapped out the hooker side pipes and gave her a nice dose of carbon monoxide. The light turned green and I lit it up for them. In my review mirror I think I saw a finger fly up. Great times!!!! Hey, at least my car is "green".

Ford's the only one of the big 3 doing well financially.

I guess they know what sells.

Put a blown V8 in that fusion for the same price, it'd sell more than those prissy hybrid versions.

They were in the news, like days ago, something about them being the only mfg. to make or project a profit, something like that, I wasn't paying attention.

Everytime a POS like this comes out, it makes me want to go rip the cats off everything I own...

And some things I come across in the parking lot.

I bitch non stop about hybrids, and its horrible environmental impact, and the lack of wtf theyre gonna run like when the batteries get weak and so on, but I just had a thought about their long term viability.

When was the last time you saw a Honda Insight rollin around?

I was doing about 75, left lane, tollway, fairly heavy traffic, towing a small trailer with my Caprice wagon, keeping up.Car comes up, riding my ass, flashing his headlights. I thought it must be an emergency. It took a while to get over with the traffic. A Prius shoots past, driver laughing his head off, sexy looking blonde in the pass. seat. My wife was with me. Probably a good thing as I felt like doing something irrational.
