Well hello friends,I feel a lot poorer but a hell of a lot more satisfied.
I've spent over 900.00 in the last several days to spruce up my 84 coupe and I've still got a long ways to go.
Most of it went for a new digi-dash and a chip for the tranny.
Oh yeah,The driver and his main squeeze gotta look good also,so,I bought the wife and I maching Corvette jackets...hoooooohweeeeeeee.
Now it's gonna be hell just waiting for everything to come in. .
Seey'all laters,couch potators.

I bought a chip from crossfireinjection.net that is supposed to prevent the transmition from (Chugging) or shifting into higher gears before it's time.
I had an article in the CF a while back about it chugging and a supporting member of that forum emailed me and told me about this chip that would fix it.
just waiting to see if it'll work.
here is the link to the chip http://crossfireinjection.net/DCS%20Products.html

It must be to prevent the TCC lockup or delay it til 4th gear, i dont think there is anything else it really could do. 84 transmissions have the standard TH700-R4 weights type governing system in them for shifts as far as i know.

It must do something though. Let us know how it works for you and what it does

What dash did you get? Did you go stock or Dakota?

I will be curious what this chip does... if it helps, great!

I got the stock,I was hoping That I'd lose the auction on the stock but I won.
If it doesn't work or something, you better believe I'm getting the Dakota.
Here is the p.m. that bucaneer sent me shortly after I posted about the shift points on my tranny.
"Steve,
Your shifting issues can be solved by purchasing our 84 upgrade chip along with other issues. This is a "guaranteed" fix for your shifting issues if you have described the issue you’re having correctly."

"Checkout our website called DCS at: http://www.crossfireinjection.net for more info. You may also want to go to the CFI forum and check our reputation if you like, we are well known there. "

I hope it's o.k. to post p.m.s especially from another site.
If it's uncool or sumpin tell me.I don't wanna tick anyone off.

ah, cool. I hope the eBay one is ok. Besides, if it is later, it is better. The 1989 IPs are really nice.

And now worries, we are about information exchange here, not paranoia.

Bucaneer emailed me yesterday and said that they already sent off the chip along with full installation instructions, can't wait.
after I install,I'll give a full report on before symptoms and after results.
Maybe it will help someone else with a similar problem.
