When do you need or have to change injectors? Would it improve performance to take out the stock units on my 90 with 50K that is running ok, or do you change them when the car is running poorly. I am going to tune it this winter.
Thanks, Marcus

Probably no need to change them. Answer these:

1. Run smooth?
2. Idle smooth?
3. No gas smell?
4. Fuel mileage is both good and consistent?

If all good just leave them alone.

Thanks, everything checks out ok from your list. What does the different pound numbers mean in overall performance? #22 vrs #24. The car runs great but I was going to tune it (plugs, wires, dist.) just so I know it's all fresh. Bought the vette the end of last summer and had very little service history. Marcus

Unless you are having performance or functional problems with them I would leave them for now. Eventually, the current gasoline will have an effect on them and cause them to break down, but that may be some time down the line.

As far as size, you have 22 lb injectors, that's what you would replace them with on a stock motor. 24 lb injectors would be for a modified motor and you would need a retune of the chip.

dont go bigger until the engine goes radical.

I think im running to much injector (30#) on my 383 that nothing is stock but the exhaust.

Until one craps out or you decide to change up some stuff leave the stockers
