On the 96' A4 equipt cars you could check the tranny temp on the dash display. What would be the odds of swapping a A4 brain with my brain and hooking up the sensor so I could monitor my tranny temps ??? Actually I was thinking more along the lines of using a rotory dial and monitoring the tranny and diff temps. Thoughts, comments, ideas, suggestions ?????

Thanks
Neal

it would be easier to install a separate set of temp gauges than to convince an automatic PCM to work with a manual.

If you already want to do the dial, I would get a generic two display digital gauge with temp readouts, and hook up a temp sensor to both.

As for integrating said sensor... hm... for the rear diff, there is that drillout kit for a drain? work with that idea.

It might require a drill out to do the same on the transmission.

more than likely, the A4 temp was being read off the radiator. Kinda cheating, when you think about it.

Have either of you ever seen the coolant system that Bill @ ZFDoc has? It's the cool.

trick is one thing... failing emissions because the PCM is fouled up is another!

You might get it to work... infact, the difference may be in the CCM and not the PCM.

check the helm manual, cause I don't have one for the 1996. if the difference is in there (which makes sense) then the only change would be to a sensor lead to the transmission.

I will be getting one soon, tho... Bastet is getting a 96 LT1 for her 87, so I will want the manual.

I will be ordering the helm soon, like, tonite or something.

I am thinking that perhaps the CCM has it, but there is no input? OR! GM is faking is all out and they are using the coolant temp sensor... sneaky, eh?
