Well when I left this time I promised my kids that I would buy them a new go kart. Ours took a dump (bad carb) which is a easy enough fix but its like riding a thick steel plate being pulled by a monster truck over rough terrain. So, I have been looking and found this (pic below). Its a 250cc, with light kit, starter, suspension, and 2 actual seats (not a bench). I know the kids will love it and I am getting it at a pretty good deal.

oh, man... my Mom was so damned conservative/anal/safety conscious, that any hope I had of fun was slow, padded and had someething to do with yard work.

That is so cool.

Yeah, karts have come a long way since I was a kid. The kind I currently have was the standard. Anything else was something you had to make. There were no plans or anything out floating about, you had to use your imagination. Thank god they sell these pre-made ones....lol.

I can already hear the kids now "Daaaaaaaaad, is it our turn to use it yet? Can't you go play with mommy instead?"

Nice toy.

When I was a kid my neighbor had two fast carts and would take me along. We went out to an industrial area and ran them in these huge parking lots till the cops came out and ran us off. Low, simple and fast. Looks like you can do a little off roading with that one. Woo-woo !!!

Nice, there's a lot of them out here. And we so many places to go off road.

I prefer a little different type of kart though for myself.

Sure beats the wooden thing with coaster wagon wheels that we used to pull down the alley behind a bicycle. We had fun though. Especially the quick ratio rope steering and "foot" brake.

This is not the site I am getting it through but they have every kart you can think of!
SHORT LINK!
Also, found another one thats better than this one BUT a guy is looking at it today. If he dont buy it I will. This new one comes with a 5X10 trailer for the same price as the above one! I have a trailer, I can sell that and make out like a bandit! Anyway, here is a shot of that one. Either way, its going to be one of these I think.

This is the brand Roketa GK-19 (KTB-250W) Dune Buggy
in my above post I put in a link to a site that has more specs

No, you are missing my point... even if the situation was different, there was no way in hell my Mom would have approved of such a thing!!! She was so conservative and anal that anything of this nature was absolutely a waste of money and potentially fun...

That's too bad, Ill bet you wanted to drive one.

My mom let me drive her car (on a military base) when I was 14.

Aww, she just loved ya and wanted you to be safe. My mom was the same way and you can see how good we turned out. The first chance I got I bought a beat up old 250 Honda that I hid in friends shed and the rest is history. It helped make us who we are today.

Ok, that guy did end up buying the one with the trailer so its back to the original. Still a great price. Check out the link that I posted up, on that site there are all kinds of MODs you can do on that engine, even a turbo!

So, you got the one with the Honda engine?

I've looked at this brand lately, the small dirtbike, to use as a pit vehicle at the racetrack. Wondered about the engines/parts.
I guess some have a Honda and some don't.
I think I saw the Roteka brand advertised localy, might have to go take a peak at them.

Yup, Honda engine and lots of parts available. I could make it a 300cc with a piston change. Add a bit more power with a new filter and exhaust. New pully kit, bigger carb, or new clutch. Tons of stuff to do if I wanted to.

Cool, the engine would be my only worry for parts. Anything else on the machine can be substituted if necessary.

Due to unforseen issues, we are not going to get the one pictured. Instead we are most likely going to opt for a local new kart. It will be less powerful at 150cc but still have pleanty of power to reach 40 MPH. Its the same price but again, its local so we wont have to travel 2 hours to get it. Makes things easier for Joe. Here it is.

I did not post what store that is from. These are very rare. Only a small handful of places sell them. From what I have found out about them, these have the best suspension out there. Plus, I can always upgrade to a 250cc engine later on. Here is the link

Yeah, but I have to think about safety here. Once I'm stuck in it, I don't have to worry about falling out!

LOL, yeah I have a feeling that I am going to be a popular guy once I get this thing. That and my 3 arcade games, nintendo Wii, 60" HDTV, rock band, and my great cooking. Heck, I will have to call the cops just to get people to leave my house!
