So..A while back I got a code 33 on my '87 A4 and since the car will not run more then a few a seconds.Followed the FSM diagnostics for code 33 and have all the right voltages at the right places, got continuity at all the right places, and ends at need new MAF.What are the chances that it could be a relay,CTS,or fuel problem.I do not have a fuel pressure gauge yet so that has not been checked.Just curious before I have shell out $$$ for it.Any thoughts or questions?

The rule of thumb is to ALWAYS replace the relays with the MAF.

I don't see how the CTS could have any causation to a MAF code... just don't see it...

CTS will have nothing to do with it. Try the MAF in another car before you replace it if you can.

I guess my concern is wether if it's the MAF or problem with the ECM.Any way to test this? I reset the code and it will not stay started long enough to through a code. One other thing, Oil pressure reads 80psi when not even running?

Oil pressure sender is buggered, or you have an issue there somewhere in the circuit. Id say youve got a short to ground somewhere in the pressure sender circuit, or a failure in the ECM.

As far as the MAF goes, there is every chance in the world your ECM may have failed, and this is why id like to see you test a known good part and test your MAF in a known good car before you go and fork out the money.
