it looks like the other 2 riders were there after the fact. the deer was down already.

I hope rider #1 is ok. He took a shot.

Nice work by the 2nd rider staying upright. That's gotta be tough to not panic and dump yourself, and also hit that grass at 60+ mph.

Kinda defeats the point of a racing track not street, when deadly objects wander into the road still.

At Reno-Fernley Racetrack, it's wild horses, a little heavier than a deer.

Maybe they should require riders to install deer whistles on the bikes.

Or they could equip the cornermarshals with rifles. That would also help with directing riders that don't obey the black flag.

I find it amusing they get all camo'd out and then put bright orange vests over it.

We've got a woodchuck up @ NHMS that goes out next to the track and sits there to watch the cars.

He never goes out on the track.
I guess he just likes to see the meatball flag come out for him.

evidently splitters are the answer

Deer are color blind but not pattern blind. They can't see the orange, just the shape of it, that's why they make the camo orange you'd think they'd be wearing.
Hunters however are not color blind just some of them are stupid. When it comes to shooting in your direction even if you have on the orange that's supposed to let them know where you are for safety reasons they'll take an unsafe shot anyway.
You can have on all the orange you want, and some redneck sure as god made little green apples, will fire at you swearing he saw a deer, he's that hard up for a rack on the wall.

I don't know why that one makes me laugh.. guess it's because noone except the deer got hurt, and it got launched so high....

The first video though that really sucks.. sometimes even if something is laying down if your going that fast you may or may not realize it in time to do much about it.. whatever the reason though that really sucks for the guy who wiped out...
